In the nemesis item UI, when you hover the right 3 items, your currently equipped item shows up on the left. When you hover the left most item, your currently equipped item shows up on the right. I’d really love if that left-most item also had the currently equipped item showing on the left side.
This is such a silly thing for me to even make a thread about as a suggestion, but holy cows have I fooled myself before by looking at the left tooltip while thinking “that’s pretty good! now to move my eyes to what I currently am using”, only to be confused that I’m wearing hot garbage.
The tooltip location for each of the 4 items is already not that consistent though. The right most, you have the tooltip showing up to the left of the mouse cursor like what is mostly normal. By the second from the left the tooltips are over the mouse cursor. But the left item, things just shift around.
Could just have the currently equipped item and the item being hovered occupy the very center of the screen regardless of which of the 4 you hover. There’s already a UI covering up the center of the screen.
That would seem like a nice solution, except that then you would be covering the item you’re trying to hover. If you wanted to shift between the 2nd and 3rd items, they would be covered by the tooltips, because tooltips often take up more than half the screen height, especially on low resolutions.
Although, rereading your post, I realize that your issue is not whether the tooltip for the hovered item shows on the left or the right of the cursor, but rather that the order shown (hovered item / equipped item) gets switched around.
This I agree with. It’s confusing. Whether both tooltips are more to the left or to the right is a design choice based on the available resolutions, but the order should always be the same.
I’m too stoned and didn’t realize that everything is on the side they’re supposed to be. It’s just the shifted tooltip position that was really wrinkling my brain.
