Why call it a Javalin skill when there are no javelins used?

This buggers me. Same goes for hammer throw. Why name those skills towards items which are not used? Like how come a javalin appears out of a 2h axe?

What’s the idea behind this? Does the char has some magic powers to create fictional items out of his arsenal? How come an axe changes to a javalin?

Magic.

Methinks the OP does not watch the animation of grabbing the javelin from your back. I find it funny watching me throw the javelin holding a staff, it reaches right back, grabs the stick from your back and woosh off it goes. A fairly smooth transition the small GCD of 0.45 sec is not bad but enough to keep from movement skill spams.

I’ve watched a lot of historical movies like Harry Potter, I don’t see the problem of creating fictional items.

Because there isn’t one? As the Sentinel moves his hand up into a throwing position a javelin appears in his hand, he’s not reaching to his back to get one then moving his hand into a throwing position.

Though it is amusing when you can see the end of the staff he’s holding behind the javelin as he throws. TBH, the animation looks better with a staff/polearm than with other weapons, IMO.

Maybe this is what I am looking at. From the angle I positioned the throw it sure looked like animation was moving backwards then the javelin is generated at the top end, you have to go to your back to get your hand in that position unless you have a different arm than everyone else :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s easier to see side on.

I think it is a different animation for the banner version over the standard.

Somehow my reply isnt attached in the topic. Nevertheless what i said: HP summons fictional items with a wand and not with a 2H battle axe. What this game introduces now is unlogic and detached to what it should be imo. This feels closer to what D3 was/is. The weapon is just a stats stick, nothing more or less.

I think creating a javelin is no way harder than creating Devouring Orbs spinning around or Sigils of Hope.

Actually this goes the same for Shield Throw (I can open a new topic about this if you like).

How come it is possible to throw a shield when you are not wearing one? Nothing states that the skill is also a magic version. Just looking back to what D2 did 20+ years ago. It was very consistent. Smite skill could only be used when you carry a shield. For java skills you need javalins. Blessed hammer could be cast from every item because, the skill clearly states it’s a magical created hammer and comes with the tag “magic” and not physical. Even for a 20+ year game the developers new you can’t create fictional items out of your arse.

W.T.F! Did anybody notice that in LE a body armour made out of steel can grand you strength??? How is that possible? Wearing a heavy steel plate should reduce your strength and not increase it!

That hilarious game design!
