For example, I want to buy an idol with +8% cold resistance; Why can’t I specifically filter only idols with 8% cold resistances? Why does there need to be this boring process of looking through the market tab by tab until I find the item the way I want it? Is there any reason for this to be the case or is it just a bad design?

Because EHG utterly messed it up.
Missing affixes, missing mandatory function.
As if MG is just a useless mechanic tacked onto the game without effort put into it.
