Which stats do Forge Weapons take from your shield?

We know that Forge Weapons take on the stats of your weapon(s), including dual-wield … But do they take the stats from your shield as well? I would assume so …

Does anybody know if weapon implicits are taken by your forge weapons? Or is it just affixes?

No, shields are not weapons.

Ring of shields does take stats from shields however.

Unfortunately shields have a very small affix pool, and its mostly about block/defensive stuff. so RoS cant be scaled too hard offensively from shields, especially since they dont attack, and shields have offensive affixes related to melee and physical damage.

But shields are listed under the category “weapons” on Lastepochtools.com … I would login to check in-game but maintenance is on right now

Well you can use shields and remain “Unarmed” for unarmed items, which tells me they are not weapons.

How Last Epoch Tools sets up the website has nothing to do with how EHG coded their game. And if you click on a shield on Last Epoch Tools, you can see that it says “shield” in the item description.

The one item that looks like a shield and can be used as a weapon is labeled as an axe.

:open_mouth: such wisdom :open_mouth:

I booted up full offline mode, and the gambler merchant categorizes shields as ‘armour’

I guess between @DiceDragon and the gambler, I have my answer.

Now the question remains;

Do Forge Weapons inherit weapon implicits? Or just the affixes…?

If they didn’t inherit the implicits they’d do bog all damage.

Fair point.

That is not EHG’s responsibility, though, and maybe Dammit should change that.
When you apply a filter (or a tab priority, or anything that specifies item type), shields are listed under off-hand along with quivers and catalysts. So they’re equivalent in function to those. They’re support, not weapons.
