When you say "My build can do X corruption" what do you actually mean?

I see lots of builds and videos of various builds doing X or Y levels of corruption. And people bragging about what level of corruption they can reach with a build.

My question is what does it mean to say “My build can do X corruptions”?

Does it mean you can do one mono at corruption X but you died 10 times trying to compete it?

That you can easily farm that level efficiently?

That you can complete a mono pretty safely but you have to pick thru it super slowly?

When you say “My build can do Corruption X?” what do you mean by that?

Some cases it is cherry picked builds being swapped at X corruption and seeing if it can clear out the mobs / bosses.

Sometimes it’s monolith specific due to enemy resistance or movement.

Eg: fighting harot is very different from fighting gaspard. The openings are different which can largely change how a build is viable at that fight.

As an example minion builds demolish abomination and Harton, but get wrecked by Harot, Gaspard and spirits of fire because the AI can’t outrun the beams and mechanics.

By same token these builds are just alright against emperor of corpses and Famosis.

We should in an ideal scenario explain what a build is viable for, if it is a leveling build, and for which bosses

There are some bad actors. Sometimes the videos don’t even show you any actual gameplay, just a planner  Sometimes the build shows gameplay, where the guy just runs through monsters without actually killing them.

Usually when you see the gameplay, you can tell. You can see if the monsters are dying or not, if they are dying instantly or if the build is struggling and needs 10 seconds for each pack.

As for X corruption, it literally only means that the guy doing the video decided to record at X corruption.

100% this.

It depends on the build creators, really. Usually it should be the level you can still comfortably farm and kill the mono boss. But, like Psojed pointed out, many inflate their stats and don’t show real footage, or run lower corruption claiming it’s higher.
You can usually figure out the ballpark of the corruption being run based on the item find modifier for the echo. It grows with corruption.

When i say my build can do corruption x i’ll show and prove it. Im usually pushing to 500-700 because thats the corruption level where the majority of the players will probably end with their build (probably even lower at 200-300)
And when i push to 1k, then i show an unedited video with multiple echo runs + boss fight to showcase that i can survive and play comfortably there.
And yes, i’m mad myself when i see people posting 2k, 3k corruption videos showcasing the “perfect” run…but probably died 10 times before. They are even hiding their echo web, that would be an easy indicator to see how often they died.

I am not sure anyone can easily reach 700C in this event. The event monolith seems to bea lot harder. I played a bit and my damage was abysmal. Albeit this event is harder then normal 1.1 or 1.0.
