When playing with a controller, sometimes items on the ground stop being pickable without the mouse cursor

When playing with a controller, but using the mouse for some menus, sometimes the game stops using the “controller mode” to pick items on the ground, and they become only pickable with the mouse cursor. The controller “cross” still works for zooming in and out, but will not select items / move between selected items. It stops working until the game is restarted.

Just an update to anyone stuck with this bug. There is a way to get the item selection to work again.

1. Go where there are multiple items on the ground.
2. Hide loot
3. Show loot
4. Move between loot with the controller cross

The loot will be back to being targeted for selection using the cross for now on. You need to move between items for it to work, so you need at least 2 items close by on the ground.

I can only confirm the bug. It occurs at some point, even if you use the mouse cursor with the controller. For example, I have not found another option so far when I want to craft items.

I also often play on the Steam Deck, so the tip above doesn’t work.
