Hi all - 18 hours or so playtime, Lvl 53 Sorcerer but I can’t for the life of me figure out if there are shops I’m missing, or money is just useless? I get so many yellow drops that trump anything in the one shop that appears in towns/camps that I’ve got almost 150k gold that’s sitting there doing nothing.
Is this normal or am I missing something?
This is pretty normal for every ARPG that uses gold in my experience.
That being said, you can use it to respec passive points currently. You can also use it to gamble at the gambler (the only current “gold sink” in the game). They are aware of a lack of uses for money in the game right now and I believe they’re planning to add things in the future.
True for ARPG, though in almost all games I’ve played there’s at least something to use it on - whether it’s at a jewel/rune/buff merchant, or a ‘jewellery’ merchant that sells those trinkets that buff the character.

You need to use gold for unlocking the stash tabs & the gambler.
also when one just starts playing LE he/she usually spends gold on Runes of shattering (until they are more available in Mono).
I’m a hoarder in these kinds of games, so I’ve purchased a bunch of bank tabs to keep things organized the way I like.
I had no idea what Gamble was until just now, so that’s what I think I’ll spend my copious amounts of gold on. Thanks all!
Stashes get progressively more expensive… so yeah there is a use.
I don’t know how long the game is so maybe it’s because I’m in early days (just at Lagon’s trial now) but I haven’t used my stash so I’m not really sure I’d be buying anymore?

Stash tabs are needed when you start to collect gear for different builds/characters.
Ofc if you are playing solo or not interested get stuff for other characters then i can see you dont need stash tabs.

I have discovered that gold is only in the game for one reason: to gamble for Orians… I can’t earn it fast enough to give it all to the “pit boss” to roll yet more common/magic & rare oracle amulets. 
Gamble for Omnividence, also.
Shhhh, don’t encourage me. I already have enough of a problem with Orians… 
My whinging paid off. Gambled my Orians 2nite, and also got good rolls on it.
Just goes to show, moan about it in forums enough and the Sun will shine…
I still was not able to get Omnividence. Or Orian’s Eye.
But yesterday, I got the Wings of Argentus, as a kind of consolation.
But not with gambling / for spending gold. Completely missed the topic, buddy 
It’s a different kind of gambling. Trouble is that it earns gold, not spends it!
World of Warcraft players who only swing the character will disagree with you - sometimes there is not enough gold for basic purchases such as a flying skill or a bag. This game is more comfortable in terms of resource farming.
