What's the point of seasons, for CoF players? New mechanics?

I’m an exclusively CoF player (I tried Trade but didn’t enjoy it) and would even play fully offline if offline multiplayer were possible.

Given that, is there any real benefit to playing Seasons instead of just creating a new Legacy character?

Do seasonal mechanics (like this season’s Cemeteries and the Weaver) carry over to Legacy on patch day? Will I miss anything by I sticking to Legacy if I have no interest in the market?

Fresh start only. Empty stash etc. No exp for fictions

Thanks a lot!
Hopefully, this is my last ever seasonal start then!

I also dont bother with it too much

They aren’t “seasonal mechanics”, they’re core mechanics that are being added to both season & standard. When the devs have finished adding what they consider core stuff then they’ll likely start doing “proper” seasons with season-specific content (presumably like in PoE).

What happens to my S2 char after S2 ends?

It gets moved to Standard, same as every other game with seasons.

You mean Legacy I assume.
So for someone who just installed the game, I should play S2 and then I can can keep playing my char in Legacy after S2. I don’t care to start fresh in S3. The game seems way to grindy.

If you’ve just got the game & don’t care for the season then it doesn’t matter whether you start in season or standard.
