Whats the point now? Pics included

I just did another 25 troves at 500+ corruption with the imprint shown that has been in for 2 days now and I’ve had 1 x 77 armor imprint drop and 0 x 76 drop (even 76 would be very helpful!! ) the rest have been single 7. Most builds to require multiple slams to run higher corruption or kill uber and most people like loot drops its why we play. I play CoF and will not convert just to get around this issue.

I brought this up in dev chat and Mike had the audacity to say he likes the anticipation of the new exalted drops - the guy hardly plays and has mentioned on live streams in the past MG has way more power so what, they give it more?

It’s actually unbarable and a lot of players who enjoy the mechanic will drop early the play dip will be strong very soon. I don’t understand why they just nerfed it so hard instead of lowering it slightly and then reaccessing. It’s mind boggling just how out of touch with the players the devs are even with discord, forums here and reddit. It feels like they’re trying to kill the game to be quite frank. I will be dropping out shortly for the first time EVER since buying LE 1900 hours ago. I will probably just do what the others do and sit on the forums bad mouthing everything due to the salty taste left by this and their refusal to patch it with a slight buff.

Bare in mind this was my second set of troves and total game play with this imprint 25+ hours straight running echoes/troves etc.

A friend tested with a 7777 on legacy and hardly even saw 77s, insane.

Uber should be reserved only for the best builds. Not most builds. Uber was never supposed to be content that the regular player need strive for to test their builds. Corrupting 1T7 items may give you equivalent if not more power than 2T7 and they are more easily optainable than imprints were before nerf, with their intrasparent and arcane rulings.
The whole Nemesis, Imprint, Trove shenanigans was so mindnumbing and boring that something had to change. If the imprint nerfs were the right change is up for debate, at least personally I don’t feel the need to chase 2T7 at all anymore, which is good imo.

I unfortunately have to agree with this though.

SPOILER WARNING I’m about to make some very opinionated statements based off my own personal thoughts.

So to start off for me the imprint reduction rate was too much, and unneeded. Too much as it went from a “reliable” source of crafting materials to “a why should I even bother” joke. And it is unneeded at this game is not a competitive one where one player having something good harms another player.

Next the statement of “imprints were by passing a process”, what process is this actually bypassing. As imprints were mostly used to sustain the end game crafting item supply. So if the by pass was players got items to easily. How can you justify MG and players being able to buy what they want when they want. Additionally as all the comments I’ve seen that have openly stated the imprint process reduction was intended to slow down players. I take this as a giant middle finger to the players.

I believe the devs took the wrong impression and reaction of everyone is using imprints and running troves. The devs impression as I took it is imprints are to good and make the gear acquisition to easy. What I believe they should of gathered from so many people running troves and cashe imprints are as follows;

  • the imprint system is something either desired or needed by players.
  • players need to use imprints as natural drops are not at the level of what players need.
  • the fact of troves being a number one imprint spot should of shown that the other imprints are not as reliable (ideally on kill imprint in arenas should of been the best but I believe the on kill imprint had lower odds and I think imprints don’t do arenas)
  • players have a need for so much loot(it’s for min max) why do the players feel like they need all this loot (it’s because the rng crafting and amount of bricks before u get a “good” item)
  • imprints can be used by all but shine for the end game player.
  • imprints were not overpowered by default and required specific rare items and a specific set up to be sustainable (folly set up/a good base imprint which most got from spamming towers/ and you needed a build that was fast and strong and needed higher corruption)

I have more to say about possible long term impacts but will post after as it’s related but a different comment.

This is actually a common misconception and not true.
For one, you have competitive leaderboards.
For another, you have MG, which is inherently competitive (if you get the best items before everyone else you sell for more, and if you are late to the party the items aren’t worth as much).
And lastly there’s always the social competitiveness. You see other players doing better and that makes you feel bad when you’re not doing as well.

What you actually mean is that not every player plays competitively or cares about it. But an ARPG that has leaderboards and a market is inherently always a competitive game.

This is also another misconception. If you look at the market from last season, MG players had very little 2xT7 exalted items for sale because so very few dropped for them. CoF players were getting triple exalted items, though.

MG only had a leg up for LP uniques, especially for Uby, since you could buy Uby items and not have to actually kill him.

I don’t think they did this because of “an impression”. They have access to the game data. They know exactly how many dropped items were found, how many imprints were made, how many legendaries created, etc, and made their decision based on that.

The drop nerf was 50%. It shouldn’t have as much impact as you’re making it out to be, really. If you got a double exalt every 2h before, you now get it every 4h. If you got 10 exalts an hour before, you now get 5 exalts an hour.
From what players say, they were farming a dozen triple exalted items a day (which does seem like too much). So now they should be doing half a dozen triple exalted items a day.

Now, it is possible that there was an issue with this and items are dropping less than 50% (which would be a bug and should be fixed).
Otherwise you shouldn’t go from getting a good exalted in 10h to getting a good one in 100h.

The difference in drop rates between CoF and MG is actually much higher than 50% and yet MG still drops lots of great items. So this change (barring any bugs impacting the actual drop rate) shouldn’t have as much of an impact as some players are making it out to be.

That is my opinion anyway.

i have a bunch to reply and will do so later tonight a few quick things though.

  • i used the word impression so im not falsely stateing (what i said about dev’s) is the 100% accurate what they are doing.
  • what makes a game competive (u can say is subjective) im not going to argue what makes what but to me competive games have a point to be competive (for example the better you do in CoD the faster you unlock stuff by gaining more exp/ Online betting on S&D matches).
  • imprints didn’t go from 1 every 2 hours to 1 every 4 hours. It went from being reliable (certain things required to be done 4 this) to a now non existent mechanic. In all my play time since S4 (lets say 4-8 hours) i have gotten less then a dozen imprints.

I am unsure how a maxroll corruption of a single T7 would give you more power than slamming a T7 unless you know a secret and are magically getting 2 affixs from a single corruption unlike everyone else. Not gonna argue the start of the game right now should be so much more fun, this season is actually good but for most of us CoF people theyve crippled it.

Uber should be for the best players and builds not just builds but to get there as a melee character for example you need 76/77 slams on most items to get the HP/DMG you can’t just roll up as a 3-4k hitter and expect to down him. I would expect the same with other classes. Well except the broken Umb Falc which they buffed for no reason since it already did 110m hits showcased end of last season with single slammed items and now 1 shot crits uber in 3 seconds - NOT the best build, broken build.

Corruption has affixes that you can’t slam into a legendary, like the +skills on the amulet. It can also pick one of your affixes and increase the roll, so you could potentially end up with a T8 affix as well.

  1. If you’re very skilled, all S-tier and even some A-tier builds could do Uber with endgame planner which does not include 2T7, before in season 3. With corrupted items this became easier.

  2. Apart from what @DJSamhein said (aside the T8, that’s not possible), corruption may just add a standard T7 affix. Even just an additional T2 to your 7555 exalt or 75 legendary is theoretically equivalent in overall tier to 7755 or 77.

No offence but your current character looks pretty bad and your last season one definitely didn’t kill Uber you had an OP falconer in S2 so you probably did it and felt awesome. I’m not going to argue with an unarmed man.
