What's the deal on Soul Wardens' Road?

I’ve tried to enter this area two times (Rogue) and every time, my game hard locks, then crashes to the desktop. I installed the game 3 days ago, but apparently this has been an issue since 2020. I haven’t seen any answers or workarounds, but there must be some? Kind of baffled an issue this old, and this major, is still lurking…

Edit: Discovered a workaround. I went back and did the Lightless Arbor, figuring I had time to kill. Completing it takes you to The Risen Lake which is one area beyond Soul Wardens’ Road which I guess is the workaround for anyone else who encounters it.

Damn since 2020? I personally am unsure as Ive not encounted it @DJSamhein was talking about old bugs in another thread though maybe he can help :stuck_out_tongue:

Hello and welcome!

This is quite an odd issue. I have a simple request and that is, to submit a bug report in-game with this character. I am under the impression you might have already tried taking other steps, such as verifying game files or reinstalling. If you have not, please do that as well.

Should it happen again, reporting it via in-game (With F8) will help the team investigate, especially if this is something that continues to happen. You could also contact our support team directly. While I was sad to hear you ran into this, I was happy to hear you got around it. :honeybee:

Hi there!

Thanks for the response. I’m unable to report the issue in-game, as it is happening, because the game will freeze, then immediately crash to desktop, but I did re-launch the game and file a bug report.

Google turned up some old topics related to this bug that are no longer available on the Last Epoch forums but are on the Internet Archive:

There was also a post on Facebook:

This happens whether I am trying to enter from the Ruins of Etendell or the Imperial Welryn.

For future reference, this is the correct way to do it. The game files that get sent have a history record of your game state, so submitting after a crash still sends the relevant information to the devs.

You did it correctly.
