Hm since it doesnt support spell damage…
Either a melee lich that uses Skeletons, Skeleton mage, Harvest, Reaper form and … wraths skilled to be summoned with 1 click or something…
Put everything into minion dmg/ats/crit and stun/melee stun and use Harvest and reap for that stun.
Maybe go all minions be melee too… you Smash in, stun, and they crash
Or a full summoner primalist that uses Wolves / Raptor / sabertooth, LEAP with all stun and companion nods with refresh CD + frenzy totem specced for the companions…
If leap even Counts as “melee attack”…
Dont know if Sentinel would be worth it dmg-wise as a pure 1-hander melee with stun… not so familiar with all the skills
Yeah, I was sort of thinking maybe Beastmaster with full-blown Aspect of the Lynx. Leap has the “melee” tag so I would assume it counts. I’ve been sort of looking for something that I could build around Leap as well.
Now on the controversial side, something with the Sun Forged set might be fun (albeit meme-y).
I just wanted to say, maybe combine it with 2 piece Sunforge Set.
I personally would go for Sentinel as i think it’s the class with the best stun synergies(but don’t have much beastmaster experience)
Forgeguard has some crazy stun nodes that all stack in the passive tree (20 points for 120% stun chance).
Lunge and Ring of Shield have insane stun chance nodes (up to 255 and 300% respectively)
Also Hammer Throw has very good stun duration and “more damage versus stunned enemies”
Shield Throw, Shield Rush and Rive also have moderate stun nodes.
Also try to incoperate anyform of applying timerot in the build, as it gives 25% increased stun duration.
Just some thoughts of skills that i thought of when seeing this weapon. Never really played forgeguard myself so i am not sure if Manifest Armor or Smelter’s Wrath also have stun nodes.
But something like Sentinel(any mastery) with Lunge(stun and utility/defense nodes), Ring of Shields + Shield Rush (both with defensive/stun nodes and there is also a node that buffs Shield Rush’s area greatly while Ring Of Shields is up) and then either Rive or Hammer Throw as main damage skill. Last Skill spot could be anything for utility or defense non stun related.
I know not all skills are tagged melee, but still something to consider.
Because both stun affixes are suffixes, the damage type for your build can be pretty much all you want.
Thanks for the thoughts on this! This was sort of the idea I had with the Sun Forged set. Unfortunately I only have one piece of it now. I think I’m going to see what I can do with a Beastmaster and see if the sun forged chest drops for me or I’ll gamble some and then maybe do a forge guard. Hey, we’ve got time and this is the fun part!
