What is the point of the Primal items?

There are very few items at the vendor, and you need specific build to make them useful.
I play a void warpath build, and there are no items worth buying for that build. This makes the season not worth doing. So i just wonder what the season mechanic is tailored to? I have been looking on all the items, and its very limited options compared to build option in the game.

It’s not a seasonal mechanic, they’re still adding core content, hence when everything from s2 “went core”, so is everything from s3.

The uniques aren’t supposed to be for all builds, they’re supposed to enable new builds & generally add new stuff.

Ah okay, thought it was the season thing, my bad. Just started playing a week ago. So i basicly just stay away from it. Ty

Not necessarily. If you want to do a different build that does benefit from one of the primordial uniques then you’ll have farmed the mats to buy one already. Plus you can get glyphs of evolution which will enable you to upgrade a t7 affix to a t8 (for more powah), though you can only have one primordial item (a primordial unique or an exalted with a t8) equipped at any one time.

I see okay ty for the help m8. Ill just run them for mats to begin with then  It wasnt clear to me what it was really. But now I get it

Almost every build will have a place for a primordial unique. They’re insanely strong for most builds.

You don’t need a specific build either.
For example, Architects of Astral Blood works on any build.

It’s an interesting concept. I’ve read plenty of posts over the years about not “finding the unique I need” after long hours of grinding because of randomness, even requesting some sort of system which recognizes if the player hasn’t gotten the thing they want and gives it to them after a certain period of time or with enough special currency. Primordials guarantee a chosen “drop” within a predictable timeframe. You know you will get this item if you invest enough time in it.

Having only one slot available is a puzzle for the player, but opens a design space where devs can make really powerful and odd effects without worrying if their interactions will run rampant when combined with other primordials.

These items are an additional axis of power, but not necessary to have a basically successful build (“beat normal Aberroth”). This is continuing the philosophy of the monoliths providing a variety of activities, and the player deciding which of those axes of power they want to interact with.

I am not complaining of not finding what i need, I more asked for a purpose the system.

Then what IS the seasonal gimmick?

Purpose of this system is to give you a new way to grind and more power.

Necromancer and lich skills update. They will stay, but most likely something will get rebalanced in next season. Like they nerfed paladin and block this season.

You can get a rune of evolution from the new mechanic, and upgrade a T7 affix to T8, for example T8 channel cost is -60% to -68%, a huge upgrade for your build

There isn’t one if you’re thinking of it like PoE & Diablo, they’ve not finished adding core stuff yet.

The purpose of the system to to enable the acquisition of specific unique items without heavy reliance on a random drop loot table.

To say exactly the same thing Llama is saying, but different; ‘seasons’ right now do not have anything that is just for the season. All the new stuff drops in both Legacy and the Season. I think they are doing this now to get used to the cadence of when they actually do seasons.

So, it’s a ‘season’ in the sense that there is a space that is not-legacy, where you have to start brand new characters, with new leveling race to first, and new economy if you play MG. But there is no seasonal-only content.
