What is a stronger defence?

I would love to know what is a stronger defence.

I am playing a paladin sentinel. My base A&P are pretty low, around 200-300. GB and CSA 100%

I am using two attack skills Warpath and Vengeance.

Now with the warpath I am speccing into the armour and protection node, and also have the armour and protect while channelling affix’s in my rings and relic.

So while channelling I am getting about an extra 600-700 A&P…can get armour up to 1600.

Now with vengeance my A&P will remain very low, but I am getting over 80% damage reduction, before I have to rely on my A&P.

So out of the two, which one is the strongest. As I can’t really tell as using both skills I seem really tanky. Except when I ran out of mana using Warpath, I wasn’t paying attention, so got splatted :smiley:

From the numbers you showed we are comparing 600-700 Protections against 70+ % global amage reduction.

I’d say that vengeance is the more powerful skill. I am not 100% sure what the vengeance nodes say in detail. Do they reduce hit damage or just damage (that would mean global)?

From what I am reading on the skill and nodes it looks like global damage reduction, but only while using vengeance.
