But then again, company like Blizzard doesn’t have that high volatility, its stocks can’t be bloated suddenly, so it is not the high risk asset for this scenario. Of course, with very large investment, it might be high risk high reward, but potential reward will be proportional to risk, and it is not the point of making risky investments. The point is to have potential rewards much higher than the risk.
As I mentioned before, the board also receives a share of the profits. This is the main income for them, not the shares themselves.
It’s basically the same what I meant. Why would stocks bloat if expected profit wouldn’t increase. And why their profit will unexpectedly increase if they only do what everyone expects them to.
Nice WASD discussion, btw Let’s create a new topic?
Even tho they have tested a few forms of wasd as mike said on stream. Doesnt mean what ur saying.
Wasd is still up in air on whether it comes to the game or not.
Heres what mike said in discord. In aske the devs not support channel
Just for the record, WASD is still in a very early internal only experimental status. There is no guarantee that it will be released, let alone a timeline. It is a very hotly requested feature and we like to give our community what they want. We just aren’t quite ready to commit to it yet.
True, it’s not a promise.
But the fact they’re already telling the public they’re working on it means the intent is certainly there. They probably learned from the original Bazaar to not promise and then have to reneg on it, but at least there is a desire and active effort to put it in the game.
Assuming of course they
- have the internal tools to put it in the game
- doesn’t break something else more important in the meanwhile
So the discussion if they should try to put it in the game has finished, imho, because they are willing to say to players they are trying.
AHahah nice intro but no. Iceberk was intended. real name is Berk =) but happy to see my twin =) Played Paladin as well?
Big old +1 for WASD. It’s not something I ever wanted, but now I’ve tasted the sweet ambrosia and I can’t live without it. I came back to LE and wanted to play my FG, but I feel utterly useless controlling my character.
+1 for WASD
Last Epoch is my favorite ARPG of all times. I really love it.
But I took a look into PoE2 and now I never want to play an ARPG without WASD-movement. That feels so much more intuitive and smoother. Please add that function and I will come back to the new season and bring all my friends.
Then lucky you they add that in April already.
After playing Poe 2 and then trying some other ARPG with WASD, I released that Poe 2 gameplay have much more than that. I wouldn’t play any ARPG without WASD either, but even with it, it might be a level below Poe 2. I am not sure why exactly it feels so good in Poe 2, but somehow they made it to feel really smooth and nice. I guess it’s overall skill design in Poe 2.
Yeah, they designed specifically around WASD. Some distinct places that can be felt is the dodge movement there, with the specific acceleration and deceleration curve.
Such minor details add up to a lot of good gameplay feel, they’ve done a very good job with that.
The combat itself is a bit wonky still though with loads of bugs (Mercenary for example has a reload bug after dodging) but when those are fixed the overall feel of it is surprisingly smooth.
Given it’s a early implementation coming in LE it’ll definitely not feel that good… but it’s promising to have it already given that WASD allows for some more precise control methods overall in the genre.
Ah, but which genre?
WASD is great.
But games using it are not diablo-like: moving with WASD pre-dates Diablo 1, it was a choice by then to make a game playable with mouse only to be accessible to a wider audience (people were not as used to keyboards as we are now).
Mind you, they are still fun games. Just not quite the same genre.
