Warpath's 0 mana cost and trigger skills

Very curious about the new Warpath options we got and excited to try all 3 trigger skills, Void, Smite and Forge Weapons.
Luckaly we get the 0 mana cost pretty easy now. However, all the trigger skills use their stated mana cost and we dont regenerate Mana back while spinning. So, after a few casts, we still run out of Mana, right? Is there a way to negate this? e.a. regen some mana while spinning?

There’s a passive node in warpath on the left side that gives you mana while spinning.

You need a two hander though.

Yeah, it pigeonholes you into it :(.
Also, we used to have to specc from left to right across the whole tree, now we gotta specc to the top left at least using 10 points again for Mana management /sadpanda

I wanted to try it in order to proc Smites, but sadly the mana gain just covers the cost of Warpath. It will take both mana nodes to proc Smites and not run out, but it’s such an extensive path to cover for both two hand mana gain and the Smite proc node that only 1 point will be left for the -channel cost.

I think I’ll have to try something like 2-3 points in the Smite proc node and the rest in the -mana.

Since it’s a chance per second instead of a chance per hit i’m not even sure Smite procs are valuable other than the attack speed.

I have both mana nodes, but I’m doing abyssal echoes instead of smite. Smite seems to do zip for damage for me.

Having finished th story I can say that I noticed the healing from Smite as it placed back chunks of HP from fighting bosses, but without the second node it happened a few times that I simply ran out mana and had to run around waiting for it to regenerate. Damage wise I can’t say I really noticed but obviously I’m running an half baked build without a single optimized item

But I don’t know if it is because I’m playing with a two hander instead of a shield or because we lost easy access to Ring of Shields, but it was the first time I went around spamming my potions and actually be constantly on the look out to find more.

Might be an idea to remove the “You have no mana regen while spinning.”?
Maybe replace it with something like “you have 50% mana regen while spinning.” Or even 25%… But give us something.
That way we dont have to pick mandatory nodes. Which, i got the idea, was the whole idea of the skill rework.
(Sorry, no idea who to tag of the mods here, does someone know?)
