What I’m confused about though is the Warpath skill tree they are saying to use.
At one point you choose a talent that converts Warpaths damage to void. However, later it’s saying to choose a talent that converts Warpath damage to fire. This doesn’t make sense to me? I’d understand it if you specced out of the void but they keep both selected.
Does this work?
What happens if you spec into both Void and Fire damage for the Warpath skill? The skills literally state they convert ALL damage for the skill to void or fire. So if you choose both…
So far the guides been great and up to Act 7 I have zero issue with anything and every mobs just melts. I’m at the point where I need to select the fire node but I’m kind of thinking I shouldn’t.
No, if you read the fire conversion node you’ll see that it says it has no effect if the void conversion is also taken. Plus the node after which gives a trail of ignites gets converted to a trail of timerot.
You may wish to have a look for more up to date guides as there have been a lot of changes since 0.9.2, not least of which is that mana does regenerate during Warpath.
I basically just wanted something that was good to level with and didn’t require any specific gear. This one seemed to fit the bill. I’ll check out up to date stuff for sure once I get near end game and respec.
One question regarding what you said though.
The node after that gives a trail of fire will be converted to Trail or Timerot. Is that IF you have taken the void talent as well? If that’s the case maybe I should grab the fire node while leveling. I’m not sure.
If you have an updated Void Knight leveling guide I’d def take a look at it. Hopefully it’s not that big a change from what I’m currently using.
Which is largely solved by the Unchained & Reckless Spin nodes, with bonus points for the channel cost reduction affix & the inscribed tablet relic base. And % increased mana regen affixes, obviously.
Or you can stop from time to time & either let it regen naturally or use one of the skills that gains mana per attack from the Time & Faith passive.
It’s also like there are several ways to deal with this, even at a low level.
Then that’s good news, I wasn’t sure if the node changes also affect leveling. When I leveled in season 3 I had a miserable time. But later and overall, this build is absolutely great and very “comfortable” to play.
The last time I levelled with it was several years ago & it felt a lot better once I’d got enough cost reduction. I’d have thought it’d feel better now that mana regens while channeling (since 1.1), so as long as you can get the channel cost down to 8 or less you’ll regenerate mana while spinning (albeit slowly), which you can do with 3 points in Unchained (-6) & 1 in Reckless Spin (another -6 for a total of -12). There aren’t many % more nodes so you need to keep upgrading your weapon for more damage.
