Ok, so the talent Return Below makes it so that a spirit can consume Infernal Shades to instantly do the remaining damage to the afflicted enemy. Does this damage count as DoT or as a hit? Just curious because that can impact how you build to make the most out of this burst damage.

I can’t say for sure but I believe it counts as a DoT since I’m built mostly for +DoT damage and Return Below is my biggest damage dealer.

That kind of effect doesn’t chance anything about the remaining damage, it just makes it happen immediately.
So if the damage is a fire dot then it it remains a fire dot.
