Whay about a warlock is getting so much negative attention? I just made one using a basic bleed/phys dmg guide and Im having great fun but my runemaster at this stage was clearing wayyyy faster. Yet people slam warlock saying it OP and crying nerf. PLEASE EHG dont mess with the warlock its so much fun dont be like d4 and nerf nerf nerf. Balance by elevating others and give us hard content to strive for. Thank you for an awesome game!

If you play the bleed/phys route you most likely don’t use any buged interactions and you will not be hit by any kind of nerf.
If you buff everything to the level of the top builds, you won’t have hard content. If EHG then increases the overall difficulty to give you hard content, it’s the same as nerving the stuff that is too far ahead, but with a magnitude less work involved.
Yeah, my first 1.0 character was a warlock. I didn’t know anything about ward abuse. I had max 1500 ward during combat, I wasn’t OP but the skills felt really good and I had a blast. It’s a really fun class.
Yep. that’s what I’m doing as well. Might even ignore Ward altogether, until it gets figured out. Life isn’t bad… feels a bit more squishy, but still fun. Definitely won’t try Profane Veil, however.
I thought about some DR chaosflame build, but not sure how I would regain mana reasonably fast.
I can tell you right now 
. You can channel it 24/7 vs 1 enemy as soon as you procc marrow shards and skill the bottom left part of the marrowshard tree and use the mana efficency idols to get down to 9 mana channel cost a second. It’s a slow but steady skill setup and I play it with beeing able to walk while channeling. It’s tanky af and offers a LOT of defence while most of the dmg came from DoTs and from the Overloads while the bleed overload is complete crap sadly ^^.
On top of it the channel mana efficency and ward gain/s while channeling fit into the idol slots perfectly leacing only 2 1x1 slots.
Overall all it’s pretty fun and you can even go so far to use the skill to be able to walk and the skill to make it an Aura as well and you are still able to channel it for quite a while vs 1 target.
You need profane viel. If you dont want to run meme lock, do what i do and run ignite dot, or run ice lock. Profane viel is your main i-frame. We dont get any other tools as warlocks. Its mandatory. Just dont run poison or necrotic
Warlock as a class is not really getting negative attention (although I can see how first glance at forum/reddit/discord/etc it may come across that way).
Simply put: the coding in the game accidentally put 40% in one spot instead of 4%. Because of this, if you choose to scale that one interaction, characters can get super crazy amounts of Ward and go deeper into corruption than they would otherwise be able to.
Player base encouraging the Developers to put the correct value back in and not worry about characters who’ve built around the broken aspect.
