WARD in NOT ruining the game, malcontents who complain are the ruiners

if you think so like the guy who started that topic earlier, then its because other defensives are too weak.

ward does not need modification, if anythning, block. parry, dodge, and resists need to be brought up to par.

If you think wards are too powerful, then you would see a lot more Spellblades on the leader boards, yet they arent there.

That is all the proof you need.

Blizzard;s Diablo 4 went south because of rampant cry babies who complainned about x, y, z class and those devs would nerf everything and

take the fun out of the game for many people.

Keep the game fun for everyone.

no nerfs
only enhancements to weaker abilities so that every spec, class, and build can have fun.

Uhm.

In other threads, EHG members have explained that they balance, or try to balance, around 300 Corruption for classes/builds, whatever. Obviously, if we achieve higher than that, cool, we are cranking, right?

But, Ward-based builds being the only builds that can achieve quad digit corruptions, or even high triple digit corruptions, while all the other ones fall behind, when the devs want to balance around 300 Corruptionā€¦ Yes, Ward is too powerful as a mechanic.

If the Devs planned balance around 1200-2000 Corruption, sure, other things need to be brought up. But, since their vision is apparently 300 Corruption, Ward needs a nerf.

Also, even if this wasnā€™t the case, bringing one system down to be in line with other systems is much easier to do than bringing every other system up to meet the level that one outlier is at.

Ward isnā€™t too powerful as a mechanic. It just has a few skills that are currently unbalanced. Ward was fine before 1.0. You just need to fix that.

I donā€™t doubt it. Iā€™ll be lookinā€™ forward to them nerfs so I donā€™t get extreme fomo on my puny life builds.

ward is fun. itā€™s just weird that it can go 7x+ the amount of life a tanky life char would have, without downside.

pretty easy to recover fast too. iā€™m not sure tbhā€¦ thatā€™s just my thoughts so far and i just started heh

I can understand that. Personally, I donā€™t care if some builds are doing thousands of corruptions. As long as my builds can do endgame and Iā€™m having fun, I donā€™t mind parking in the 300-500s.

I donā€™t mind too much, but generally speaking Iā€™m naturally competitive, so it sucks to know my homebrew build will just never come close to these other exploit builds.

wow he just did a Donald Trump on this whole topic and accused the accuser of what he is being accused of ā€¦ or something like that

Your homebrew build is never going to come close to any major meta build designed by those that no-life games and minmax them as far as they can go. Exploits/bugs or not, you arenā€™t going to compete with them unless you become a no-lifer and learn to minmax to the fullest.

My level 80 Beastmaster has 8k stable ward

If you cant get 10k+ ward on a spellblade you are not good at this game

I dont think devs have EVER said this ever, unless its in discord to your little party of CT clowns

Also is EHG glad they only hired communit testers focused on producing guides for their youtubeā€¦not to help the game

Mike just said it again in the stream last Friday, balancing the skills and builds around 300 corruption.

Fine. You donā€™t want the god classes nerfed. I get it.

But then can classes like Shaman catch buffs? Please? Merchantā€™s Guild makes performance matter even if itā€™s ā€œbasically a single player gameā€.

it is pretty consistent that the devs regard high curruption + t4 julra as the benchmark for balance, they tend to nerf things that can do that too easily, they sometimes buff other things.

Here I just wish they wish they would buff primalist minions, the ones other than the wolves.

Lots of buff needed, lol. I know they have so many things on their lists.

Yeah, I would love to see some of the minions buffed too. So much potential.

Oh but they did. Maybe not in a huge post, but one of the devs had said this in passing in another post I was arguing with people in. And as another had said in here, in a thing on friday, apparently, which I didnā€™t know about.

The problem is that you are seeing ward as the problem and not the things leading to the things that are making it strong.

A big issue is that ward is a fairly unknown and new system to people coming into the game and because of that, you are gonna have a metric ton of people that donā€™t understand it.

I donā€™t necessarily think Ward as a whole is a problem. I like the system (and I do understand ward as a mechanic. Been playing the game in EA for quite a while) it just as of now is overtuned, and more specifically with certain skills. Needs a little work.

I enjoy ward. makes the game enjoyable trying to push 100. I donā€™t get hours upon hours to play. SO, this makes it easier to experience what I can. Besides
Ward isnā€™t what is killing everything, it just makes it to where i can survive a big hit if i am brain dead enough to stand in telegraphed abilities.
Ward isnā€™t make or break for me but it does feel fun.

perfect comment, I donā€™t understand this idea of people leveling things down, itā€™s obvious that the other defenses are performing poorly and need a buff, for me the ward is the best and most functional thing in the game currently, just nerfing it it will push the game in the direction of glass cannons, builds with millions (sometimes billions) of DPS we saw this error in all ARPGs, donā€™t comment on it here
