Wandering spirits need a hotfix asap!

The spirits duration is too short! Also the cast time is like a stun. It is almost mandatory to unlock the node that reduces cast time and spend at least 2 points on it. Sometimes spirits wont use the projectile ability cause they disappear too fast. And with 16-18 points left to spend since you need to reduce cast time feels impossible to make it work. Honestly I think the skill was just fine you didnt need to change how it works.
Edit: The node that reduces cast time hardly makes a difference even with 4 points on it. Guess rip skill if not for a hotfix. Wandering spirits lich may need to find new build path :frowning:

No, have to disagree with you. This skill needs a massive overhaul to function in MP this is intending to fix the massive screen cluster. I would hate to see the screen if 4 players were using this skill all at the same time.

Still the cast time needs a change its like a self stun. And they changed the visual so it wouldnt hurt multiplayer. But the skill got nerfed too much. Auto cast or not, it lost so much damage due to the duration changes. They could increase the cd more instead of making them last less. Sometimes they dont use the poison projectile even though i spec it

Then that makes this a bug report instead. I played the skill and it’s no worse than the VK’s devouring orb stand to cast the skill. Even if it is instant you still have to stand still to cast.

Nope, disagree. What I don’t understand is that some players continue to think that an OP low-level skill should be a screen-clearing skill. It should not be.

That cast time isn’t ā€œlike a stunā€ any more than the cast time on any other skill that has one is - you were just accustomed to it being instant. It’s only jarring because you aren’t accustomed to it not being instant yet. When you get over it you’ll realize that you’re currently being very dramatic.

I must’ve built my Lich wrong, Wandering Spirits were never quickly clearing screens for me (Death Seal, Reaper, Wandering Spirits, Transplant, Spirit Plague).

Wandering Spirits deals 40% more damage and gains 4% increased damage per intelligence (from 4% increased necrotic damage). But they buff it. sorry if my english is not good:D

Unfortunately, that buff didn’t come close to being as good as it used to be. They disappear too quickly for most of them to even throw a poison bolt, and make you stand still (this one is more QoL than build breaking) :frowning:

Wandering spirits was never op clearing skill. It was something extra. It was a consistent source of damage, not much damage but it was there. Now the damage is gone. Even though it seems like a buff the spirits are out less time so they dont do damage

Even if it seems to be a buff, they disappear too quickly so the spirits dont have time to do the extra damage. Spirits was never a skill to solely rely on but it was some consistent damage. Now they are gone too fast. They could make it so that fewer spirits are spawned or increase the cooldown. Since they almost halved the duration the damage went way down

Well you are not wrong and I have not tried channeling them yet. Maybe thats the way to go now. I agree with them to make autocast less appealing too. I just felt there is not enough time for them to make a difference

Wandering Spirit was a nice sustain for a Lich. By attacking often, it was a small but permanent source of leech.

Yeah of course thats why the duration changes made the skills almost useless.

I’m not sure things are working as intended, either. I have 4 points in Lingering Souls, and my spirits are disappearing after 4 seconds (the first few that actually have the time to be revealed for the duration of the spell). The passive tree for Wandering Spirits seems to be working against itself with it’s current duration anyways (if it were working properly). There’s no point in spending 4 points to get 2-3 spirits to last 40% of 4 seconds since the rest of the spirits won’t benefit at all, expiring early due to the duration of the spell ending in 6 seconds.

Anywho, I never tried the spell pre patch, but I’m definitely going to try and figure out what to replace it with. It’s become more of a vulnerability than it’s worth :slight_smile:
