I’ve looked over my char till I’m blue in the face and I don’t know what I’m missing. My VO is doing Cold Damage and I’m not specced into Frozen Orb. None of my gear converts VO into cold damage. I’m Runemaster and trying to create a pure fire mage. It’s driving my crazy! I want it to scale with FIRE!
What are you looking at that makes you think it’s doing cold damage?
When you look at the scaling tags, it says Cold not Fire. And when it comes out, it’s a giant ice ball not a fire ball.
You have Rune of Winter. A passive in Mage tree.
Given that you’re not specced into Frozen Orb that sounds like a visual bug. Remove your Elemental Nova area/Fire Damage idol. Compare the DPS tooltip for VO before and after. Does it change? Try to do the same with an item that only has % Increased Cold damage on it.
Edit: Nevermind. Dude, look at the Mage passives you took. I missed it the first time but it’s there.
