You guys may have already thought about this, but here’s a suggestion I’d really like to see implemented.
Hopefully we can see a new class and/or some new subclasses at some point, and one of those could be a Void Witch for the Acolyte.
Lorewise, this woman has given up her youthful vitality in exchange for immense necrotic and corrupt powers that pervert the natural magic of the world. Well… I don’t see why she wouldn’t immediately look into the abyss for such power too.
The Sentinel is currently the only class who actually makes use of any Void damage, or has Void skills. The Acolyte is the other, arguably more logical choice to do so as well.
The Void Witch’s Passive Bonus could be something like “Tainted Elements”, where all of her spells deal Void damage with a secondary elemental effect/conversion, and no necrotic, physical or poison options to keep it different from the other subclasses.
- Spells and Melee attacks have a 0.5% chance to Ignite, Shock and Chill for each 1 point of Added Fire, Lightning and Cold damage respectively.
Some of the existing skills that would be thematically cool with Void damage options, and possible names for their conversion nodes;
- Hungering Souls → Abyssal Maw
- Wandering Spirits → Echoes from Beyond
- Aura of Decay → Field of Corruption
- Spirit Plague → Withering Breath
- Bone Curse → Bone Rot
