Void protection

So I’ve died dozens of times to Rahyeh, and have been reading up all I can to see how I can beat him as my “web” is now almost used up and ghastly affixes are the only ones left or I have the option of resetting but I don’t really want to add corruption to a fight I can’t do.

I’ve read a lot of “get more Void Protection”, yet I haven’t seen/had any items/shards drop with that description. It’s also not mentioned in the loot filters. I have a little more than the cap of 75% Void Resistance, but would love to know where the Void Protection affix drops/items it can be found on. I’m a hoarder, so have masses of “might be useful” stuff in the bank, always pick up all jewellery and idols, Unique/Sets/Exalted and a search in my stash doesn’t reveal anything with Void Protection on it.

Next question, can I just skip that Timeline for the time being and move on to the next (I have the next two unlocked)?

I think that stat got removed a while ago and yeah you can skip timelines, you only need to complete the last ones to get into the 100 ones.

Ahh, thanks for the quick answer! It still appears on the Wiki so I didn’t realise it had been removed. As for the timelines, I shall move on and perhaps come back to him later on…I won’t be beaten (permanently) :stuck_out_tongue:

The wiki is completly outdated and not a good reference.
Rahyeh isnt really a hard fight though. Just beeing patient and dodging things make it pretty easy with some practice (very well designed imo).

It’s the “dive” that kills me, I’m able to avoid all the ground stuff and his slams, but that dive seems to come from nowhere.

As Hendrikz pointed out, the affix “protection” is no longer in the game, we have resistances instead.

Void Rahyeh is not exclusively dealing Void Damage, but some of his abilities also do physical damage on top of void damage.

The fight is very mechanical and you can kill teh boss without getting hit ONCE, if you know how to deal with the mechanics.

If, don’t get discouraged and try to fight the boss multiple times until you learn the patterns.

In case you are interested, I do have a video explaining every single timeline boss in detail.

I linked the video with the appropriate timestamp.
The only thing here, that is no longer valid is the enrage and frenzy modifier, since the bosses cast speed is no longer affected by them.

I have died a dozen times to him as well before learning to be patient with him. His attack rotates in a common pattern so it is quite avoidable. Each of his skill has a timing in a beginning for you to attack before you start avoiding.

Yes yours is one of the videos I have watched…thanks for that, very useful. He seems to be the only problem I’ve come across, breezed through Chapter 9 with no problems and no deaths…but he has me stumped…at the moment. I really wish we could go back in and try over and over, but the loss of stability and having to do more echoes in between tries, puts more nasties on him.

The “dive” is one thing I don’t seem to be able to see when he’s going to do it. Every time he flies up and out of sight I make sure I “Shift” so I get the invulnerability, but the dive seems to come when he’s actually on the ground, which is a bit puzzling.

I get that.

I also think Rahyeh is one of the hardest MoF bosses, especially in terms of how punishing he is and how quick you need to react.

You can stack up modifiers that barely affect the boss.

In this example: Enrage, Frenzy, Armour Shred basically do almost nothing or nothing for the boss.

Also depending on your build things like dodge, critical strike avoidance or glancing blow will not do much.

I’m a Bladedancer, and I’ve tried to get my critical strike avoidance and glancing blow up, but as you say, they don’t seem to do much, which was why I was asking about Void Protection, as it seemed to be my last hope :stuck_out_tongue:

Try to get a endgame boot base and at least T4 or T5 movement speed prefix on the boots.

You can avoid ALL of his abilities without the need for using an active movement skill.

NONONONO,

I was talking about the ENEMEY MODIFIER.

All those stacks do ALOT, but depending on YOUR specific build, giving enemies specific modifiers doesn’t do much.

Because you said, you can’t re-do the boss withotu doijng more echoes.

Just do a few echoes with modifiers like: "Enemies have chacne to apply armour shred, enemies gain frenzy and haste when hit, enemies enrage at half health, beceuase they do NOTHING for Rahyeh

I’m not at end game yet, only level 78, but I have 31% movement…I will look to increase that then.

Ah ok, sorry for the misunderstanding.

I agree, walking alone is enough do dodge all of his attacks. The best time to attack him is when he Spams those voidlings.
