Void Knight Rookie Issues

This week i started playing Last Epoch, and i rolled a Void Knight to start off with (always went for the melee class in every other game so it was a dead giveaway for me). At the moment of writing i’m at level 94 and now that i have a good amount of passive points to distribute i’ve started testing out some different builds and specs and combinations.
From here on out i’ve kept bumping into issues i can’t seem to explain, Tooltips explaining abilities that don’t seem to do what they say. missing info in the tooltips about what does and doesn’t happen etc etc.

to name some examples of things that i tested:
I don’t see anywhere that Echo’s can only spawn on void abilities, it just mentions “Abilities”, when i change the element to for example Fire, Echo’s don’t spawn anymore.
Echo’s are supposed to spawn "On Melee Attacks, Throwing Attacks and ““Void Spells”” ".
To test it out i went full Attack Speed and went for a Warpath with the Earth Scorcher (and tried it without it), but it does not seem to proc any echo’s. I Then attached the “Winds of Justice” node which casts a smite attack on a percentage base, still no echo’s spawn. Strangely when i add the Righteous Fury and Righteous Flurry to the build, and i’m near enough to the effect of Winds of Justice i get the buffs, but i don’t get the heals from what i could tell.
Sure, for some it seems logical; “you rolled a void knight, so you use void damage”.
Not for me, i rolled a void knight because i found the VK passive interesting and really looked forward trying out combinations with it.

other thing that was bugging me was, that in order to keep up with the damage and clearspeed of friends (who play other classes), was the inability to regenerate mana properly. I could either choose Warpath’s Warrior’s Fury to keep up with the damage and speed, but i lost mana so fast i was at a standstill too fast. I then combined it with Volatile Reversal which helped a bit, but it has a long cooldown, addding Traveller’s Frailty helped alot, but that caused me to get beaten down instantly, so still at a standstill. Ofcourse there are other ways to regain mana, but it all seems to be extremely costly to choose.
It would be nice to maybe have the smite affix on the headpieces to be on any smite. or have a bit more mana regeneration overall. At the moment it feels like when i chose mana sustain, i lose damage, if i choose damage, i don’t have either mana or speed, and if i choose speed and mana sustain, i lose damage.
and in certain specific options i lose survivability alot aswell.

Something else that i was wondering about was, when you chose the Gladiator Passive (Dual Wield), why we only have the option of holding a sword in the offhand, and not hold 2 axes or 2 maces, or a mace and an axe. Theres already a pretty big downside to the passive with the 9% more damage taken, i don’t see the reason to limit options on top of that.

heres just my 2 cents, and i’ve only started playing recently, so i might not know all the ins and outs or tricks to get around the issues that i’ve had.
So if there’s actual answers i’d also love to hear those ofcourse.
