Void Beam subskill gained through Erasing Strike and Shield Rush

Erasing Strike’s Void Beams gained through the ‘Void Pyre’, ‘Regicide’, and ‘Ravenous Void’ nodes could use some work in my opinion. And similar work could be done to improve the ‘Descent of the Void’ and ‘Dark Regression’ nodes for Shield Rush.

First, the beam’s hitbox feels very small, much smaller than what seems reasonable after playing with it a while. I have had times where a beam travels through a pack of enemies and nothing takes any damage from it. Maybe the beam’s hitbox could be improved somewhat, or the subskill could even be given an area tag?

Next, the moving beams from Ravenous Void feel borderline useless sometimes. The relative low monster density in this game compared with others in the genre means that a random direction has a pretty low chance at being a useful direction. Perhaps the beams spawned from this node could track and move towards a random enemy instead of moving aimlessly?

Lastly for Erasing Strike, the beams spawned through Regicide are handy for strong stationary targets. However, they only spawn on what the game classifies as a “boss or rare enemy”. This means that they will not spawn on things like spires in monoliths. A change to enemy types like this to be a “boss” enemy would go a long way with helping this skill’s single target damage, which at least to me certainly feels lacking.

And finally for Shield Rush, the Beam spawned through ‘Descent of the Void’ does not feel very useful. The player travels far quicker than the beam, meaning by the time you arrive at a new pack of enemies the beam is too far behind you to do anything useful. The wording of this node states “you create a Void Beam that travels with you”. Maybe the node could be changed to more closely match the wording in the description, and have this beam travel at the same speed as the player.
