Video options changing on their own

So the video options for things like “Grass Density” or “Ambient Occlusion” are randomly changing on their own, but leaving the video options in the UI set to the values that I had specifically picked.

Despite being set to specific values, what is visually being rendered does not match.

For example:

Grass Density: Set to Low

  • What is actually rendering: High

Ambient Occlusion: Set to High

  • What is actually rendering: Very Low

Changing these values to anything other than what they are set to, and then back, correctly resets them to what they SHOULD be.

This is happening randomly. I just happened to notice that what I was visually seeing didnt match what I had set (and left alone) in the video options

Just an update:

It seems this is happening upon loading new zones. Most notably in monoliths.

Again, its not something that visually changes with the graphics options. Those remain visually set to what I want them to be. Its like the game is auto lowering settings upon zone load however, but not reflecting those changes in the setting.
