LOL WHAT? just because you don’t care, it doesn’t make it less competitive. Just because I play TETRIS in my free time doesn’t make it a casual game, it is one of the most competitive games out there. The world doesn’t revolve around what you think, now go sit down and keep spinning on your VK because casual players don’t care about bug fixes anyway.
On the warlock node it states 4% increase in ward, but somehow the devs multiplied that by 10(probably an extra 0 in the end), so it was 10*4 = 40% increaed instead. So that was a pretty obvious bug and a pretty massive amount of ward
No I definitely got it bubba. What is subjective is EHG’s view of a bug. A complicated unforeseen skill interaction could be seen as a bug if the layers of code is convoluted enough. Its not for you to decide.
So this is always the dumbest response possible lol… were do you think devs learn about bugs? You think they spend hours upon hours playing to figure them out, or do you think its from their PLAYER BASE reporting bugs and forum posts? Please use your brain my guy… EHG is very smart for listening to their community, as long as they dont follow them completley and make logical decisions, its the best move theyve made, and the players like when devs listen, just ask every single wow player lol…
This post is, I think, a very good reason as to why this is absolutely not a huge step in the right direction for balance, because you’re right that there is far more than just Profane Veil being broken/imbalanced going on in the game.
One of the main reasons to handle bug-fixes and other balance issues that affect character strength between cycles is to have more time to fix and improve (or tone down) other things so that the abilities that are being changed are balanced out in one way or another. If, for example, there are other bugs in certain Warlock trees that cause some nodes or effects to underperform, fixing those at the same time as Profane Veil makes for a smoother transition into next cycle.
But if those hypothetical bugs exist and Profane Veil is the only one to be fixed, then the Warlock is now weaker than intended for the remainder of the cycle unless further changes are made mid-cycle, which then repeats the process.
They care if they’re running the build, and a good bit of them will probably just stop playing. People like you who are against it, and are so invested in a casual game that you refer to it as competitive, will keep playing no matter what. I just don’t see the victory in alienating casual players having fun, or acting superior because you play the “competitive” meta builds.
Devs should learn about problems with their product through their own internal testing. It’s called QA and it’s existed for much longer than computers have.
Not only did we know, but we also reported. It could have and should have been fixed prior to launch. With that being said I still think this is the right move. In the future hopefully they take their testers feedback a bit more seriously.
EHG you have an amazing ARPG. Please be wary of going down the path of D4. There, the devs have no core vision and blow every which way “popular” sentiment blows to appease the mob. The loudest (not the valid) are heard.
Based on the overall game, I trust you guys to make decisions good and right to the future of Last Epoch. You guys had and have a vision for the game; ignore the noise and only do things that fit to the core philosophy of Last Epoch.
Remember, this is an ARPG where people want to have fun. This is not a competitive FPS or RTS.
Last Epoch is awesome. Please keep it up.
To be fair, you’re comparing a d4 patch that nerfed ALL builds in the game at the same time, compared to fixing two completely obvious bugs that are causing 10x the performance.
NO they won’t, casuals want a balanced game so they can play w/e they want and the more accurate a skill functions the better for them to build around in-game knowledge. Stop spreading your own nonsense as gospel. The game has a leaderboard, the game’s end game is pushing content as high as coruption/wave #, its a competitive game. Coming to your flawed logic, its okay to then alienate competitive players (and everyone else who is NOT running over powered bugged builds) who arguable bring more exposure to the game and thus grow the game. LOL logic.
Cant balance a game filled with bugs, this is a wonderful decision short term and long term. It will allow you to properly consider balance changes when skills work as intended!
Thank you EHG
Elitism at its finest. You’re just so right my guy. Those streamers they’re catering to would definitely quit if they waited until the end of the cycle to fix it, you know, like they said they were going to do, rather than continuing to play. How can I be so dumb to think regular joes are relevant at all? It’s the top 1% of the player base spreading exposure for the game that really matters lol
Wrong again, casuals welcome bug fixes, only exploiters cry like you.
I’m sure with the recent launch you haven’t had time to read anything at all or consider that playing a broken build may have a fix coming. Somehow you ended up here to tell us all this though, it’s on you goofy.
Not crying, just pointing out that it doesn’t matter and the only people who care are a vast minority and that they’re literally changing their stance because of that vast minority. I don’t even run the build, just don’t get why it matters. Ooooohhh leaderboards.
Wtf fix stuff thats broke like game crashes, rubberbanding, enemies being invisable…
Massive W. Thanks for taking community feedback and putting it into action.
Nah man streamers want their names at the top of the boards my guy, can’t be having no bugged builds getting in the way of no lifing the game
I’m so glad you are taking this stance!! Also, your communication and transparency are setting industry standards. Keep up the great work!
