I was Curious if anyone has ever found one of the Unique Idols with Legendary Potential. According to the game guide ANY unique can roll with Legendary Potential. However, also on the game guide it explains that Idols can not be modified through the forge. What is correct here? Are unique idols about to be legendary or not?
Well, as a general rule ANY unique can roll with LP.
But, as in any game, there are always exceptions, and just like in games like Magic the Gathering any card rule can supersede a general rule.
For instance, the three uniques in the game that are automatic (Gambler’s Fallacy, Avarice, Orchirian’s Petals cannot have LP. (Their Soul Bastion versions can, however.)
And since Idols cannot be modified then LP would be useless on an idol, superseding the general rule.
Interestingly enough, LE Tools states that the effective level for LP is 0.
That may just be mis-wording on LE Tools part as in this case 0 might simply mean, no chance.
Idols cannot be used on the legendary cache, so… And no, they don’t drop with LP.
