Uneven mono mob difficulty - osprix meteor, nagasa poison tornado, others

It still feels like some mono settings/themes are unusually difficult compared to others. I think it’s down to the mob composition and the interactions between the types of ally buffs they can spawn in with, and the types of spells they use.

This is not about modifiers or corruption levels, I’m talking about comparing general mobs (not bosses) in echoes under the same modifiers at the same corruption levels.
At the point where you’ve got your resistances all capped and are crit immune, and you’ve got decent health and armour, you can start to get a feel for which mobs are maybe a little overtuned.

The two that I can remember off the top of my head are the osprix that cast meteor, and the nagasa that cast poison tornado. Some of the time these won’t be too bad, but some echoes they are absolutely ridiculously damaging compared to the other mobs in the same echo or other echoes played with the same modifiers. By comparison, avalanche cast by ice elementals is a high damaging aoe that you need to get out of, but it doesnt seem to interact with other local buffs in the same extreme way.

So what you are saying isn’t that they aren’t inherently overpowered, but that they are actually not scaling correctly? Honestly wouldn’t surprise me.

I dunno, if it was a corruption scaling issue I’d expect them to be more crazy at specific corruption levels. This is more like in one echo you’ll get slaughtered by meteor stacks, and a few echoes later with the same modifier combo at the same corruption you can just ignore them.

It could be a scaling problem specific to interaction with ally buffs, similar to how we constantly find broken combinations of player skill nodes that do 100x the damage :wink:

Other mobs that I can remember being uneven - scalebane saboteurs delayed explosions, and the new model cats with a breath weapon

This one right here is honestly the bane of my existence once I start pushing corruption. The explosion circle is barely visible to begin with and blends right in with anything on the ground. If you are in an area with a lot of grass for example, that crap is almost impossible to dodge reliably.

Osprix Lightmage is absurd. Maybe my defences are low or maybe at 170 corruption is to be expected to be oneshotted/two-shotted through 60% endurance, 6500 armour, 2000 life and so on. I do not get it. Especially by the swarm of them. Unless Ethereal Blockade is not working with Ghostflame as character panel still shows Dodge instead converted armour. Still annoying enoough to hit Alt+F4 and go to sleep.

Yep, quite a few mobs are far more powerful than others, the fire archers (forget their name) can be devastating, the stalkers, (Cats with the double tale) and the winged forges (Also forget the name) can be pretty rough too.

So far I think the Nagasa with that light beam and the stalkers are probably the worse of the lot. Especially If you come across 2-3 elites at the same time.
