I’ve noticed two cases where UI windows can stop you from reacting to something trying to kill you:
- Nemesis UI. Especially if you access your stash to find na tem to replace the egg. Nemesis is meant to be interacted with in a potentially dangerous environment of an echo. If you’re looking through the stash, most of the screen is covered by it, and when you notice something dangerous happening, it takes several presses of escape to close all levels of UI windows and react to the situation. Suggestion: make a single press of escape close everything, giving the player full vision and control immediately.
- Blessing reward UI. It’s modal and very slow to interact with, and there are cases where dangerous things are happening while you’re presented with blessings. Two examples I encountered recently are surviving phase 2 crabs getting to the top platform after the lagon fight and zombies spawning after the emperor of corpses and harbinger are killed. Suggestion: make the player invulnerable the moment the blessing window opens.
