Elder Gaspar has a typo when he’s talking about their shard.
Specifically:
“[…] only tapping into a fraction of it’s potential.”
should be:
“[…] only tapping into a fraction of its potential.”
Doesn’t the potential belong to the shard so the apostrophe is correct?
No, for a similar reason to why we don’t write hi’s when something is his.
“Its”, “his”, and “her” are all possessive pronouns and don’t need an apostrophe like when turning regular nouns into possessives (such as “the shard’s”).
If you write “it’s” it can only ever be a contraction meaning “it is”.
