Two weird performance issues I've noticed

One is the whole game micro-stutters every time I mouse-over a piece of loot on the ground. This was common at launch, wish it would get fixed.

The other is frequent massive stuttering in combat. There could be 1 monster on the screen, or 100…the hit is identical. Going from a smooth 60fps down to maybe 20, until the last mob dies. It doesn’t do it every time either, it’s very inconsistent. Either some kind of memory leak or a bug in the combat logic. This one I didn’t have before. It’s almost the exact opposite of a bug around launch when frames would start dropping after everything was dead.

Every time this happens, you should report it using the in-game bug report tool. It sends a bunch of game data and is invaluable for devs to figure out what is happening.

It did, it’s a lot better than it was, though I suspect whether it’s still an issue probably depends on the girth of your pc.

As DJ says, report it in-game, that’ll give the devs useful info.

Have you ever said anything that was remotely useful since the launch of these forums?

Mono hub is worse now, taking way more time to go in map and come out to hub.
Before 1.7 it was ok, and game launch is a bit slower too.

One good point is some maps in campaing i think it was Wleryn Outskirts it was a mess with fps drops, now its WAY BETTER and other maps too.

I’ve said many useful things. I was merely pointing out that the devs have specifically looked at the microstuttering when an item tooltip is created & that it’s better than it was to the point that it’s not noticeable on my pc (with a decently girthy 4080 gfx card). But it definitely was an issue.

Report it with the in-game bug report tool (F8), this provides them with more data.

LOL @ “Report this bug”. It’s been the same performance issues with this game for ages. You can physically see after changing the graphics to low or medium that in the very next load zone, sometimes even during the same instance, the game defaults the graphics and textures back to the highest.

If they were going to fix these performance issues, they already would have. Lagon couldn’t even be hit by half the spells in the game for 3 years, and the devs never even fixed it. They had to add those forward tentacles you can hit, which completely ruins the immersion of the fight. Imagine in Diablo if you fought Diablo and you’re just hitting his tail over and over and then he dies. Goofy AF.

Don’t expect any performance changes to be fixed. You can physically see the game stuttering and glitching and slowing down even on streamers broadcasts, and those guys have 4-6,000 dollar computers designed to play games.
