Trigger Limits

I have noticed a recent LARGE uptick in what you guys call “trigger limits” on skills and I have to say its just a blatant “fun limit” and an obvious attempt to squelch popular builds and playstyles. That in turn will result in these various nobs and dials getting reworked EVERY SEASON to address trends. Creating a synthetic sensation of “change”. This is such backwards logic for designing a game that keeps people around (you cant patch culture).

My response to these skills will be an automatic avoidance in protest to the game limiting my potential, stifling build diversity and ultimately creativity in character design. Furthermore I am convinced that theses sort of design elements encourage min-maxing because there are fewer “high-scaling” build paths.

I have played games in this genre and others that are able to design the skills where they can better protect against power creep and the like without creating synthetic performance ceilings. Please find other ways to address this.

Lastly, I hope this isn’t due to any technical game engine limitations, because that would be foreboding.

I don’t like those limits either. I suspect they are there as a balancing tool, but also as a safeguard against system overload in extreme cases, like triggering 100 things per attack and causing lags and FPS drops. I would prefer those trigger limits to be relaxed.
