I play primalist - werebear and I use tridents as main weapon. It gives me crazy high crit, which is perfect!
BUT! Getting one is like being on a quest! Their drop is so rare, that they don’t even have to be yellow. They are rare already! If you try to gamble for it, all youi can find are axes, swords, scepters - but getting a trident is like merry christmas.
Can anything be done about trident drop please?

Honestly, its probably just RNG… some people have complained in the exactly the same way for other items like belts, gloves etc. but from my experience its just random and eventually evens out…
The more specific you are, the harder its going to be… there are 14 possible spears… so even if a spear drops, you only have a 1/14 chance of it being a trident.
If you are far enough into the game you can get the Remorse of Heorot - Blessing - Last Epoch Item Database blessing to give you increased drop chance for spears… That and farming higher levels for better drop rates is all I can suggest…
Cannot offer any more advice tho…
Trying to get a lvl 51 base in a much higher level zone isn’t going to be easy since they would have a much larger pool of bases that can drop. I would suggest that the OP could try getting higher level bases but if he’s got a very high crit chance, the implicit would nearly double his hit damage.
