Training Dummies

I see a few older threads suggesting this but now with 1.0 and a massive influx of players. It feels even more necessary. Since there is no good indication for DPS outside of tooltips that themselves are just an estimation. (And are hard to engage with in the middle of combat) There really needs to be an in game way to check dps. Without it, you are just limiting peoples ability to experiment with builds. Which based off everything I’ve seen is more encouraged here compared to most ARPG’s.

This can be achieved with just a simple dps indicator next to training dummies but you can easily take it further. With people having a “sterile” environment to test their abilities against an actual enemy. Where they can set a health amount on the enemy and their status.

The obvious preferred solution that would require the minimal amount of dev work would just be to give our actual real time dps on the character screen. Instead of a bunch of percentages. However, I’m thinking there may be some aversion to this idea due to a perceived cultural affect it would have on the game. As well as feigning ignorance on why the feature is actually wanted.

If we are really taking a hard stance against this. I think there is some misunderstanding here. If the devs don’t make it. The players will. You have damage number pop ups. People have made tools with less. Telling people to just do the math themselves is only gonna make people more tempted to make these tools.
