Well this is strange and annoying. I opened the two chests by the broken bridge at “The Courtyard” in the ruined era, and one of them dropped a legendary shield - now I’m playing on solo mode and sticking with 2h weapons so I figured hey, I’ll go sell (inv was full) and come back for the shield.
I go back to town, spent no more than 5 minutes there (I gambled a bit) and when I came back, not only was the legendary shield gone, but every other drop was too, and the chests were “unopened”. I open the first one (closer to the stairs than the bridge) - it drops a single gold coin lmao. Open the second one? TWO gold coins rofl. Thankfully I didn’t really care about the item in this case but I can only imagine how frustrating that might be for someone losing something they were excited about then adding insult to injury hahahah.
I wanted to add the log but its almost 7MB and upload max is 4 so
This is how zones work at the moment, they are respawned when you leave/reenter them for any reason. Not a bug. This will be changed when multiplayer is launched.
Regarding uploading large log files, you can zip them before uploading.
Also, gold is largely meaningless so purposefully picking up gear to sell (especially given most of the sale values) is kinda pointless.
I thought that might be the case about the zones… Otherwise the 1-2g drops wouldn’t make any sense - I’m guessing a chest can’t spawn empty, so that would explain that.
I have absolutely no idea why I didn’t think of compression. Derp.
As for the gold, you’re probably right… It’s more a habit than anything else lol. I also prefer playing hardcore solo characters so in the early game it actually does pay to make some trips back - get a few runes of shattering, etc. to make sure you actually get to the point of the game where gold is meaningless
Yeha, I’m the same, I used to pick up drops to sell, but now I can’t be arsed. If I’m not going to use them (either using the item or shattering it for affixes), there’s just no point. And as an accountant, I just can’t not pick up gold on the floor.
Do you use level-dependent filters to make your looting journey more streamlined? I’m about to sit down and make a super detailed custom filter for my werebear / swarmboi druid but I’m wondering if I shouldn’t maybe just go looking for something pre-made instead… Maybe I’m just slow, but it feels like it takes ages to create a filter that both shows relevant gear (IE highest level base of item types you want) + shard-worthy gear (at least while im leveling) for the build I’m playing (and I like to come up with my own builds, so I can’t just look up a guide and use the accompanying filter).
Maybe this isn’t the right place for this conversation, but I’ve seen your name on the forums forever now and you seem to really know what you’re talking about, so do you have any input on how to either streamline the process of loot filtering (not as future implementations but from the player end - I think the tool’s quite good) or if maybe there are some good baseline filters to work from out there somewhere? Not sure where to look in the first place, though I assume there would be a spot on the forums dedicated to sharing stuff like filter templates…
Personally no, I can’t be arsed. I highlight gear with “nice” affixes (ie, +level & other class-specific affixes I’d want to shatter) & then highlight my preferred affixes by gear slot for what I want to end up with. Lvl 2 dodge gear can get you a long way…
