Town portal: enemies respawning

A couple of times in the campaign I’ve returned to the area I was in after using town portal and been dead in a group of enemies after the loading screen has cleared. I’m not sure if this has been raised before, apologies if it’s already been covered off.

The two possible solutions I can see are:

  • Don’t have an area regenerate after coming back through a TP. This would also solve the mildly frustrating issue of having the map reset after coming back down
  • Add an invuln timer similar to what you receive when you first zone into an area.

To me the first make the most sense, but I can also foresee a situation where this could require a significant code refactor, so the second option could be a good stopgap.

This is a known problem and is definitely not intended. There are two issues here:

One is the respawning or “saved state” of the maps you have already cleared. This is something the devs have said they are trying to fix as its their intention that the maps save state when you tp back to town. Devs are working on this.

The second is a bug that is plaguing online map loading right now. The devs increased the invulnerability duration which can be negated/cancelled by moving, using a skill (even autocast) or your minions doing something BUT there is also a problem with the loading duration affecting the invulnerability timeperiod (not sure exactly but for a player it seems like its out of sync i.e. the counter for the invulnerability starts before the map is loaded). Devs are working on this.
