I got the totem MTX for my primalist, thinking it could be used for any totem ability. It’s limited to thorns thou. Any way to make it usable for other totems too? Weapon MTX is pretty flexible so when I bought it, I thought it would be the same.

I know it says “thorn totem” in the description and that each skill MTX is for one specific skill, but this is the reason I haven’t purchased this skill MTX.
Weapons are a little different and a one-handed can only be used in the place of a one-handed weapon but I think a totem MTX “could” be a little different and be a little more flexible.
I played thorns totem back in beta and liked it a lot. But, it’s a little niche to have a skill mtx for imo. It just should be a “totem” weapon skin if the skill thorns isn’t pew pew pewing out of it. My 2 cents at least.
I agree, I’ve never seen a Thorn Totem build that was the mainstay of the build. It has always been a support of sorts, such as when using Storm Totem or Upheaval.
I’ve played Shaman thorn totem before where it was the main DPS skill. It can be quite strong (relatively speaking) and decently tanky too. You do need to be in Spriggan Form for it to work, though, and when they remove the ice skill, you were basically left with an empty skill slot which you couldn’t really use for anything useful.
Yes, I’ve done that too as a Spriggan, but that’s the only way I know of the get it to be the primary dmg skill, and that was before 1.2 so not sure how well it works now.
