Too many defensive layers

That’s not been my experience over the years. The further through the campaign you go the more important it becomes but I never cap my resists anywhere close to that early, even on league start.

I guess it depends on how much you hate dying or SC vs HC. I too will sometimes just bodybag my way through a campaign boss. But for the most part, most people would suggest you have capped resistances atleast after act 5. going into act 6 with say 30% fire res, some of the fire enemies can and will 1 shot you.

I couldn’t say it is easier to cap resistances because of that, rather, I’d say it’s more mandatory than in LE because of that.

I’d even argue that in most ARPGs, capped resistances is the generic most important step on setting up defensive layers, whereas in LE, it’s really the less important one. No one needs to worry about those last 5% in phys res, especially so if all other layers are inexistent. And that is probably why some people struggle with it when they’re just getting to know the game.

Yeah, I don’t like dieing either, I try to get as far through the campaign as I can deathless (it varies but it’s usually much further through than acts 3/4 & i don’t upgrade my armour much until the 2 Kitava fights).

It’s whisper down the lane! I’m a victim! sorry
