The ideal scenario would be to have the item nameplate show for a few seconds than disappear just leaving the beacon, with a button to toggle the nameplates on/off. Or at the very least the toggle itself, with the beacons remaining. Right now we only have a button to toggle the filter currently being used.
Are you asking for something like the Item Ground Tooltips keybind option, which toggles Item Ground Tooltips as Visible or Hidden using Alt+Z (by default) or long press Right on the D-Pad if using controller?
That is a permanent toggle though, and with filters Iād need to be constantly turning it on and off which would actually be more annoying than just having it on all the time. Perhaps ātoggleā isnāt the right word⦠Iām looking for a āhold to showā kind of thing with the nameplates showing for a couple seconds after the item first drops. This is the first game of itās kind Iāve ever played that doesnāt have that as an option.
You mean pressing āXā to show hidden stuff until you release the button?
Yeah, I think thatās what the OP needs but a little more. I think what they are asking for is for the ground labels to show briefly before they are hidden, plus the X to show the hidden stuff from there.
I donāt really think this is as helpful as the OP thinks since during fights things are dropping all over the place and you donāt normally have time to look at everything when it drops, thus the X to show them after the fight.
Thatās only for the filter. I want it for everything.
Itās not like Iām requesting some new thing here. This has been a standard feature for this type of game for the past 20+ years.
I canāt seem to articulate this in a way that people actually understand what Iām asking.
-
Item drops, shows nameplate for a few seconds depending on filter settings
-
nameplate disappears
-
hold nameplate button to show nameplates depending on filter settings(similar to how the filter items toggle works)
Thatās literally it. Not reinventing the wheel, here. Standard option going all the way back to D2.
D2 was never that sophisticated. D2R might be, but thatās a different beast.
D2R has this option, D2 never did, not sure about D3/D4.
D3/4 donāt have complex enough loot for any form of loot filter, not even GDās implementation. Maybe AngryPillow never played D2 back in 2000.
D2R doesnāt have a loot filter either. Itās just an option where when loot drops you see all item labels and they go away after a few seconds.
D3 is from before D2R, so I donāt know if it has that option, but I expect D4 might.
This is what Iāve been referring to. I played D2 for over a decade and I could have sworn this was in the original game. Maybe not at launch, but certainly after the LOD release.
No, LoD never had this. The options in D2/LoD were very very minimal. Maybe some of the mods like Path of Diablo or PD2 added this, but I doubt that.
I donāt have an issue with this option being added, though Iād expect it wouldnāt be on top of priorities right now.
