To help with endgame variety, please let all woven echoes provide amber, multiplied by faction level

I don’t know how many echoes I’ve run in this patch, but it’s got to be over 1,000 by now, 99% of them being woven echoes, but only these 5:

  • Omen’s Veil
  • Fractured Tower
  • Farsight Turtle
  • Fractured Prison
  • The Grand Brewery (to get belts to craft)

Many of the other woven echoes only need to be run once, then there’s no reason to run them again. Yes we could swap them using that one mechanic, but it’s not worth it due to the combination of it (a) being non-deterministic, (b) there being no reason to run most of the ones we’d get, and (c) the number of ones we do need each season being so small. At the moment I’d rather keep them, in case I decide to build a character later that needs to use some of them.

This, combined with the echo impression web nodes having been nerfed into the dirt, results in limited endgame options. The only way for me to upgrade my gear at this point is to buy Fractured Tower by the dozens - which I don’t mind doing - but if the only way I can generate the amber is to buy bones with timeglass shards then that means I have to run dozens of Omen’s Veils.

I don’t need anything from that Draal Queen, or the Antipode Rift, or even the Rift Beast that gives Champion’s affix items, but I wouldn’t mind throwing a few into my web now and then for variety if I’d at least get amber out of them. Same with the Aura echoes. There’s no point for me to put them into my web because they only affect non-woven echoes, and if I’m completely building out my web then the auras don’t affect anything. (Frankly, it would be great to be able to use the Woven Vessel of Memory on Fractured Towers.)

At the moment my only other choices are to go do some Aberroth runs or run random echoes in some timeline that doesn’t give any of the rewards I need. I prefer these over spending arena keys because I really, really dislike the random roadblocks in arenas.

Unless something changes there’s going to need to be some other reason for me to want to use the stockpile of echoes I’m accumulating, and having them also give amber (multiplied by faction level) would give us a reason to.

(For what it’s worth, I’d love for you guys to un-nerf the imprint nodes and make the 3-for-1 mechanic’s results be heavily weighted by the imprint nodes. That would be nice, but wouldn’t do anything to help endgame variety.)

Amber farming used to be THE WORST! Now it’s only meh, lol. You can buy bones with frags from veils to then buy amber BUT I still agree - last season amber wasn’t an issue there was 10-12 of us who were always online same time plonking down trove maps to get imprints and same time juicing them with amber but now since the imprint nerf no one really runs them…

100% right on the only running tons of the echos once a lot of them serve 0 purpose other than unlock, it’s weird to have so many without really having a function

You can, but it doesn’t help with endgame variety.

Indeed. I still occasionally run Lostwood Folly + False Temples or Trove just because the combo gives Amber, is fun to me in small doses, it breaks the monotony a tad and they are so easy to lay down.

(That Lostwood Folly aura affects some Woven Echoes)

Nope, you’re right. There is none still.

After using Cemetery of Reweaving to trade in about 200 each of Fractured Prison, Fading Brink, Collapsing Horizon, and various other echoes I had enough Cave of Shadows (the one for Rogue items) that I started experimenting with running groups of Lostwood Folly, Cemetery of Reweaving, Unclaimed Trove, and Cave of Shadows. After using up all of my Unclaimed Trove and getting down to 10 Cave of Shadows I started to think about what other echoes I could slot in for variation when I remembered this thread.

It occurred to me that EHG probably won’t add amber to the lower-tier echoes specifically because they expect us to run them with Lostwood Folly. I can’t remember if that hadn’t occurred to me earlier or if there was some reason why I didn’t think running them with LF would make it worth doing, but I found myself wishing that someone from EHG had responded to my initial thread to ask, “Why not run them with Lostwood Folly?” If I’d had a reason I could’ve elucidated it, or if it was just that LF hadn’t occurred to me that might’ve just been all I needed was a reminder. I decided to come back and add this here myself, in case anyone else run across this, or is thinking something similar themselves.

My gut’s telling me I should keep them in case I decide to try a new build later, but I guess I’ll try throwing some of these into webs with LF and see how I feel about it. It also occurred to me that I can try throwing an Antipode Rift in too, and hope that it procs one of the unique items I have imprinted in my tree. I don’t currently have a weapon imprinted, so Seeker’s Summit and Heart of the Hive would seem like a waste, but I’ve got 70 Antipode Rifts, so they’ll last a while.

Lostwood for some reason I honestly don’t know why is one of my most hated maps up there with fading brink lol!

There are so many echoes that provide nothing but a weaver point in this game its very odd.

The best way I found to do amber this season since me and the boys were running no group troves due to the assassination of imprints was to do an omen veil. One of those gives I think it was 64 or 67 fragments and we tested at 100c up to 2000c - it’s the same amount. You can then buy more omens as you go up you’ll get more omens each time from the frags and you can do this 100% solo I went up to maybe 60? Omens laid down at a time - it’s even better if you can find a friend to do it with and split the cost, double the frags then turn them in for bones, take the bones to act 10 and hand them in for amber 5k bags. The other way was much less ethical and required a friend so I won’t say that one. But yeah this was the best way. Previously we’d have full groups running troves 50+ at a time at 1000ish and so we’d all stack then take turns putting down but you’d end up maxing out amber decently quick. We also did this with rampant coasts - if you stack all the echo nodes in your passive tree you get quite a decent amount of double, trip and sometimes more rampant drops to the point each few days we’d run 100+ and if you get zerrick popping on those its an easy 6k bones.

Not sure any of this helps or is what you wanted to hear but it’s there now haha <3

It’s not odd, it’s just bad design plainly spoken.

They added a limited resource which doesn’t provide a superior result to base gameplay, that’s just badly made hence.
For a limited resource the outcome needs to be better then otherwise as it’s not endlessly available unless other content.

The problem for me is that I only ever play offline solo. I love RPG games, but they’re really only MMOs now, but my schedule constantly changes, so I can never know when I’m going to have time to play, which makes it impossible to maintain any friendships in these MMOs or participate in party play. So the fact that LE had an offline mode was one of their hugest selling points for me. Finding out they were introducing CoF and MG mechanics to help balance out the solo/party play styles was also a huge motivator for me to want to continue supporting the game.

I’m glad party play mechanics are useful to those who can participate in them, but I can only hope that LE will continue to find ways to allow solo players to enjoy the game too. There have been other MMOs I’ve had to walk away from because later-game play was so hard that it literally forced you into group play if you wanted to continue playing. (I especially remember 2Moons for this, which IIRC was made in Korea, potentially explaining the expected social aspect of the game.)

I was also doing the thing where I was trading fragments for bones to turn in for amber, but frankly I just got sick of down nothing but omens and towers and wanted to find something else to break up the monotony, which was what sparked this thread to begin with. That’s why I wanted the other woven echoes to give amber, but I’d forgotten that they would if I’d run them with LF between them.

I’ve been seeing absolute tons of trash talk on Reddit, and I’m not too happy to see it cropping up here too. It seems like no one’s either capable of or willing to give EHG any benefit of the doubt whatsoever, and everyone’s just turned 10,000% negative, which is just as annoying as having a toxically positive community.

They introduced a mechanic. There’s nothing saying that they intended for this mechanic to stay 100% the way it is for eternity. They’re allowed to change things, and in fact I expect them to change many things over time, though as with any company who’s trying to please a hundred thousand people, I’m sure nothing they do will please everyone perfectly. There’ll always be people who’ll say they did too much or not enough.

All we can do is wait and see what the future holds, but it seems like people don’t even want to do that. People just have no patience for life anymore.

You used to play online a lot until season 1 - what changed to make you turn to offline?

At one point when they had server issues I created an offline character and played that until they got the server issues figured out. Over the next few patches I continued leveling that character to 100 during down times, and then when I got tired of playing the character I was playing in the patch before this one I decided to try out a new build, which happened to have the same base type as the one I had offline. I decided to try respeccing that one rather than start a new character online at level 1.

Also I realized that I wasn’t playing enough (either not enough hours or not optimally enough) to continue generating income fast enough to keep up with the inflation in the league’s MG economy. I figured that in my case I might as well play offline CoF since it wasn’t making sense for me to continue trying to keep up with MG.

Fair enough I have made some great mates online which is why I stick to that nowdays that and I have a lot of free time to play, well did before season 4 killed a lot of the passion I had for the game ;/

That is one absolutely nonsensical argument. Obviously they don’t want to do that, as plainly spoken they have a right to get the things promised and never being delivered on time.

People are waiting since 2 and a half years by now for EHG to finish what they were supposed to provide back then. That’s how far they’re overdue with providing things.
EHG provisioned a live-service game in the ARPG sector similar to Diablo, which has as the business standard a seasonal update cycle. Which we never got.
They released a game as 1.0, without a finished campaign.
They introduced Factions which have never been fixed. MG still has one absolutely horrendous UI and a foundationally flawed economical system. CoF still has a severe lack of targeted farming provisioned to them which is needed.
The only targeted farming EHG actually provided were the imprints, which MG has no reason to get in the first place, as that’s what the market is supposed to do. And that mechanic has been absolutely demolished, taking the only reasonable way of decent progression without massive RNG away.

And stating ‘people have no patience anymore’… if you move into a home and buy a new kitchen… the carpenters come by and install it… and half of it is a total mess of slanted doors, missing knobs, stuck drawers and damaged surfaces… how long exactly are we talking about for the intended quality at delivery date to be provisioned with after the fact that it is supposed to have happened?
A week? A month? A year?
Seemingly beyond 2,5 years in your argument.

There’s patience, Day 1 fixes… major issues after release… give em time, things dial in in a Cycle or 2 and then are ‘solid’, right? LE is supposed to be in Cycle 10 currently, and still that stuff’s not here.

There’s patience… and then there’s being a friggin doormat everyone steps one. You ask for being the second.

Bad analogy. You are not literally living in the game. If the quality of your actual IRL life is being that badly impacted by the level of your unhappiness with the progress of a video game’s development then you need help that EHG is not qualified to provide.

That’s not to say people shouldn’t be upset at all. EHG did make assertions, and customers have expectations, but the level of many of the customers’ displeasure seems quite out of perspective. Wildly so in some cases.

Don’t make a clown of yourself now.
First up, if you thought what you described was the goal of the analogy then you’re a lost case anyway.
Secondly, who are you to tell other people how little or how much something is allowed to affect them?

I think people understood quite well what the meaning behind my post was without someone coming along to virtue signal meaninglessly.
