Tides of Rust (Abyssal Echoes) question

I put this on Reddit, but couldn’t get an answer so I’m trying again here:

“armor shred applied by abyssal decay has increased effect” is what’s stated by the node in the Abyssal Echoes tree (tides of rust). To my understanding, Abyssal Decay does not apply armor shred, Abyssal Echoes does (with points in Rippling Corrosion). Is this a typo, or am I just misunderstanding how Abyssal Decay works? This matters because I took the node that gets rid of Abyssal Decay but makes the initial hit of Abyssal Echoes count as a “hit”. Thanks!

I can test it out in about an hour if you don’t have your answer already,

So I went for the on hit Abyssal Echoes, it does applies armor shred and the armor shred effect seems to be working

Yes, that’s a typo. It should be phrased like that:

Armor shred applied by Abyssal Echoes has increased effect.

IIRC, this increased effect also affects on hit shred (from your equipment) applied by AE if you’ve taken the Potent Corruption node that makes AE hit.

Thanks PvtVlad but that wasn’t the concern. DankRafft knows what I’m talking about though. I appreciate the confirmation, time to stack armor shred

Don’t forget to take Screaming Rifts and Screeching Echoes in conjunction with Potent Corruption for maximum on hit applications madness.

Fixed that for you.

Agreed, I should be able to now stack 60 armor shred between 2 void cleaves :). No need for more i’d imagine with the diminishing returns on armor right?

Edit: just tested in the arena, the rifts from abyssal echoes take a while to stack so prob still gonna stack armor shred. Thanks everyone.

Yeah, probably.
