This need to change asap!

Hi Devs, can you see this post? I really like this game, came back for the new season and had played like a week or 2. Now another 100hrs in my total played time is 800hrs. All I want to do is have fun with my own build so I don’t mind how many Corruptions I can go or the LADDER, I don’t mind the difficulty or the dorp rate. The only thing made me want to quit this game is Forging Potential. It’s just so bad! If anything good happended with my crafting experience during the past 2weeks I wouldn’t come here to write this post.
Look Devs, one click-19, one click-14, and it’s gone! Can you plz tell me what’s the meaning of you design all that kinds of Runes? I have a lot and I want to use them, but how? Only 2 clicks and it’s gone. -19, even -22, have you ever tried this? -20+ for an unlucky person like me??
For example, all I want to farm for my build now is an exalted two-handed mace called Lucerne, only one 6Tier PD affix will do. Even for this I played 3-4 days done a lot prophecies, only saw 2-3 suitable ones. Then I put’em on with Glyph of Hope and EVERYTIME it’s gone after 2-5 clicks, how can I use my all kinds of runes with the item I farmed 3 days if it’s gone after 2 clicks? Maybe 1-10 forging potential reduce per click is enough? It’s just so bad now.

UPDATE: After I made this post yesterday I came back to game and played a bit more, done another exalted 2-handed mace prophecies twice. One Lucerne with T6 melee physical dmg that I need poped out. This one had 44 forging potentials, and guess what, after I only used glyph of chaos twice to 2 T4 suffixes, there were 8 FP left. Bro, 44-8 after 2 clicks, then how can I seal that T1 melee cold dmg and add the prefixes that I want and upgrade it? How is this playable?
Like I said, I don’t mind farming or anything else in this game but this FP cost. For this new character for new season, now I have 1082 runes of refinement, 296 runes of shaping, but when do I get to use them? If I use them like 5 times but the result doesn’t go well, then I can live with that, now the thing is from my personal experience 90% of time I don’t even get a chance to use them. This crafting just feels so depressed sometime.

Bad luck can (and will) ruin some super rare exalted goods :smiling_face_with_tear: I know this pain, even huge legacy MG stall is not enough, when you need exactly this base, exactly this T7 and T5s to be here. Only 3 items T7+some affixes from thousands and thousands are good to go, 1 of them tells you to sell kidney, and other 2 are ruined by -18 -10 etc

rng behind rng behind rng. I like the crafting but sometimes that rng is too unforgiving. Maybe a pity or something for critical success or even build up to use on your next item?

I hate to say it (not really) but “back in my day” people playing ARPG’s accepted that RNG was going to heavily influence their gameplay and the pinnacle of “best in slot” was more of a “technically possibly, but highly unlikely you’ll ever get it within a reasonable playtime.”

That’s the nature of the genre. You’re not going to farm a dungeon 2-3 times and have full BiS gear like an MMO.

Fixed that for you

There are already several systems that sway the RNG on crafting in the player’s direction:

  • A hidden lucky roll. If a craft is chosen to be lucky then the FP cost is rolled twice & the lower value used.
  • Critical successes
  • Glyph’s of Hope

Totally agree. I don’t even use half the runes and glyphs, because I fear they will deplete the item. The glyph of hope is useless too. I know it says 25%, but it really doesn’t feel like it.
