This Dinosaur Event Is Dumb TBH

I’ve been doing a crap ton of these and I don’t even know what i’m supposed to do… I just go in and kill boss and leave… What’s the goal? I mainly do it for experience points so idk what about anything else.

Collect bones, make a choice n kill some more beasts in monolith echos. Collect horns and other beast’s pieces to buy primordial items from goatee npc

It is not an event. It is just additional content to the game that allows for a little more build diversity. All you’re supposed to do is get the item for your build.

It’s the season mechanic. Nothing here to turn on your brains for. Take the options that give you the loot you need for your primal unique to get your powercreep fix and stomp the game even harder after.

It’s not a seasonal mechanic. It is a base game addition.

Last Epoch presently does not do season-only mechanics like PoE/Diablo/etc. do

This is part of the v1.3 update to the game, end of story. It will still be here, just like all the Weaver things from v1.2.

I dont’t knowß I didn’t hear them say “Yes this season mechanic is here to stay and you’ll get primordial uniques in the futer no worry!”. All i know right now is that it is this seasons mechanic. If you have some information where the devs said this will be a game mechanic after the season ends I would love to see the source. So far i only know that they like to keep season mechanics but they never said they keep all always and forever.

Well, given you can go and play all the Beneath Ancient Skies updates and content on Legacy characters, no different that new Cycle/Seasonal characters, that should kind of speak all the answers you need.

No content is presently “Seasonal” in Last Epoch. If there is to be TRUE seasonal content, it will be clearly stated it will be gone after, and locked to new seasonal characters.

Right now, there is none. At the moment, all a new seasonal character lets you do, is start with a “clean slate” in terms of stash, and if you play Merchant’s Guild, the marketplace.

Even the v1.3.0 Patch Notes just has these things listed as “New Features”:

  • Chapter 10
  • Primal Hunt

Nothing in the patch notes states it is temporary.

Yeah they don’t have to announce if it is permanent or temporary but I can’t imagine the stupidity of leaving that level of powercreep in the game. That would just be another nail in the coffin.
So far I think the EHG devs are sane people and that chenges will hit. If not… well i at least will have a bellylaugh.

Everything is core until they’ve finished adding core stuff.

Changes will happen… to the items. Reflect chest will almost certainly get a nerf. Along with some others.
We might also get some tuning on the beasts. But the mechanic will stay.

Why am i getting the rifts at low level and can’t even buy anything? I just ignore them

If you ignore them, then you can never afford anything.

If you do all the rift beast that come your way, you will be able to buy something around act9 or 10.

Use early rifts to farm for materials other than bones. Look at the vendor what items you might want to get and pick evolutions to get those materials.

Those horns or whatever were the bottleneck that kept me from buying my first item.

While this might be a little late, completing a Rift Beast’s full run, always nets you a Unique amulet that is quite potent too (and that is the only source of it).

You can choose to evolve the beast to drop runes/glyphs/specific loot which is super useful for your first character.

Just because a seasonal mechanic isn’t removed doesn’t make it non-seasonal.

This ‘season’ implements this mechanic as a focus. That makes it the ‘seasonal mechanic’.

Which is outside of ‘core additions’, which just happen on the side, can be nice but don’t warrant a distinct focus being put on it. Lizards for example are a nice addition, not viable enough to be a seasonal mechanic though. In comparison Nemesis is.

It depends entirely on what you define ‘seasonal’ as though.

If it’s the focus it’s fine.
If it means being removed then yes… we shouldn’t ever get seasonal mechanics

And nonetheless it’ll stay.
And where did you get them being ‘sane’? After finding out that their entire basis of ongoing service is based upon being ‘the top dog in the genre’ and nothing less? Because they’re basically second place and still financially failing :joy:

So you think that factions were a seasonal mechanic because they were added in season 0? Or Warlock & Falconer, they were added in a season so that must make them a seasonal thing.

Everything thus far is core, just because it was added in a season doesn’t make it a seasonal mechanic, that’s about as silly an argument as suggesting that Warlock/Falconer are seasonal masteries.

Have you seen that was added for the first few seasons in PoE? They were “seasonal mechanics” but distinctly limited.

Nah, that’s just 3 different bosses that you murder. 2 basic mechanics to interact with & that’s it. Plus they’re still here unmodified.

The biggest thing added in this season was actually Chapter 10 of the campaign, so I guess that’s the seasonal mechanic :stuck_out_tongue:

Come to think of it, I was hired in autumn…
I’ve had a full-time “seasonal job” for years and I didn’t know it.
Mind blowing.

I mean… :stuck_out_tongue:

But besides that the whole argumentation line is fair.

Let’s change it up then.

Seasonal mechanic is exclusive mechanics happening inside a season (being that the only mode or just a ongoing thing) where it’s then put into the core game later on or in terms of a ongoing game altered/removed. It being warranted to be ‘seasonal’ hence.

Otherwise it’s core content, true.

Also related to ‘seasonal’ content… that would demand quarterly changes, otherwise it’s leagues/cycles/whatever you wanna call it. A season is distinctly… 3 months long after all, even if that terminology has gotten washed out like many others over time :stuck_out_tongue:
