I’m not just talking about graphics. Watching the trailer again, it’s clear they need to improve their attention to detail. The new portal is just a recolored version of the standard portal, at no point during those 7 months of development did they think about making the portal cooler? Just so it can be a bit different?
The corruption rune doesn’t even have any new animation; it’s the same old thing. There could be some slight different animation, or a different sound; come on, this rune is something that can completely change your character for better or worse, there has to be something to create anticipation. These changes may seem small, but in my opinion they contribute a lot to avoiding the feeling of monotony in mechanics.
Apart from the 2 skills nothing feels new. New items are nice but at the end of the day they’re just bigger numbers for your character. They underestimate how much visuals affect the perception of the game.

Well yeah if we talk about D4 as after the second season of adding nothing new and original people already started to expect it and the ones who have the time to play the new seasons of these types of games were quitting in 3 days after playing it unless they were content creators only for D4 or your casual dad gamer.
I for one could not give a rats ass about graphics if the gameplay loop is tragic and it kind of is for LE.
If you were playing the game for long enough you would realize…it is not clearly not enough for them. We waited a year for a new season to see goofy dinorawr mechanic that does give you cool new items but that was it. Silly mechanic that I for one was not excited to see/do after I got the item that I wanted for my build so basically…nothing new added to the gameplay once you got your item especially if youre the type who only plays one build per season.
Point is graphics/effects<gameplay quality at any given moment.
What animation? With attacks, visual effects when consuming the rune or something else?
This is true but the game is built like a puzzle and the devs want people to solve it. The game’s visuals with skills is already at a good place, because of the tree and item combinations. Could be better though, but might be asking too much for their current scale.
From stream chart, you can look yourself, the latest season. LE lost 1/2 players in about 1.5 weeks, Diablo 4 lost 50% in over 3 weeks after season start….
Edit. I looked up steam chart, here is the stats:
LE, >50% drop after 5days
PoE2 >50% drop in 11 days
Diablo 4, >50% drop in 24 days
I know this is internet, and everyone is allow to dislike something , There are many reason one that dislike d4, and anyone is enticed to their opinions, but d4 does have a good retention rate, and much better than LE…you can downplay why this is so, but it doesn’t change the fact.
This is the strangest game forum……GGG games are elevated like 2nd coming of spice girls, while D4 is regard like Britney Spear in 2026….and not remotely close to reality.
Never seen a game community so obsessed with other games than the game they support to be talking about, and so polarizing
These guys have made animation and sound changes regularly since I started a year ago and they do so with most big releases - sometimes smaller updates during the season.
The visual changes from 2019 til now are pretty awesome IMO. I play on a 32 inch ultra wide in native res with the graphics on high and even with a Ryzen 5, 32 gig of ram (DDR4) and a pretty standard 4060 no frills I get 85-100fps solid.
I played Poe2 from early launch and it still looks the same to me. I don’t touch DIablo 4, but I’ve seen recent vids and I prefer LE (personal pref to style) but Diablo franchise has been around since 1996, comparing 30 years to 7, lol
@Kiadaw I know bro it’s nuts how people sit in here or even in game and wank on about other games. If you like another game so much go play it. No ones forcing you to be here and you won’t be missed.
One major problem with LE is living under shadow of ggg games……making LE towards like Poe will make it WORSE!
It either need to target competition players pain points, while have its unique design.
I would have a few suggestion. Combine CoF and Mg . Give both option depends on players rng and wishes.
Remove any retraction on allocating skills, t least in season . Last season, the 50% fell off is 5 days. T days. Players are not making multiple same class or subclass in a league, so why not let player experience with skills and passive as they level….
Give free mtx for milestone, so players have an additional reason, hook to return each season.
