Thespian [Base Mastery-Rogue]

I was watching Araons video about Mikes stream and noticed that Mike said he could not come up with a proper bard idea. So consider this your external pitch. I am gonna do the thinking for you all.

Thespian Base Mastery for Rogue

The class involes using the two handed spear and shield [new node currently being planned for sentinel with season 2].

Base Mastery Abilities:

Ring Around the Voidsie: (toggle aura)

You deal 4 void damage in an area around you. Your moves while ring is on determine what you do. A dash triggers (A), button 1 does B, button 5 does E

A: Lute: you restore mana + gain %increased mana regan
B: Harp: you gain health + gain %health regan
C: Whistle: you gain aggro in a large area (gain X amount of Ward)
D: Flute: you gain %movement speed
E: Drum: You gain more armor and %armor for 4s

Nodes: you can enable / disable functions to make the skills more powerful and make them do more. Each skill disabled, adds 1 tier to a max of 5

Tier 1: 0 benefit, you do all functions
Tier 2: cant do 1, but the others recieve a 5s cooldown
Tier 3: cant do 2, but others recieve a 8s cooldown, and 10% effectiveness
Tier 4: cant do 3, but others recieve a 10s cooldown, and 20% effectiveness
Tier 5: cant do 4, but others recieve a 12s cooldown, and 30% effectiveness

Guidance

You are locked in place, you begin to block with shield, and gain bonus max block effectiveness based on your max armor. At the end, you produce a loud musical note, that explodes in a circle around you (spell damage, Area, Intellect, vitality). The more damage absorbed the more you deal.

Main nodes: gain extra charge but longer cooldown, extra spell damage, spell critical, your extra charges are used at once, and allow you to absorb more damage based on how long the charge is

Fell Blade
Your (RClick). You send a musical note flying from the edge of your spear. It strikes the opponent dealing damage in a small explosion around them.

Nodes: fell blade deals X element (pick one of void, fire, cold, lightning, physical, poison, bleed or void). Notes summon spear notes to float above the enemy, at 4 stacks they impale the enemy doing 55 base

Medidate
You summon a book of notes, (not a companion) that lives and follows you around, the summon feeds of ward to survive, and uses your ward as fuel for attacks, and its abilities depend on Ring Around The Voidsie

Scaling: player: Spell, Cast Speed, %regeneration, Mana
Minion Tags: Ring Around the Voidsie

Ability: Crown of Voidsie:

A: (buff), you gain passive 1% mana regan, and can get a burst of up to 400 mana instantly (55s cooldown).

B: (debuff), a bubble is placed with a 30M Radius. Enemies inside it are slowed and frozen at 30 stacks. Enemies loose resist based on their choice in fellblade up to a cap of 25%.

C: You forcefully drag enemies to you, and gain ward per enemy pulled

D: you gain 3 overstacks of dash, or its replacement ability to a cap of 6

E: You gain a large boost to armor, for 5s

Nodes: Medidate has a large cooldown but lets you do two functions at once. Medidate has no cooldown but you loose X% health per use

Echo Echo [traversal]

You leave a note on the ground for up to 5 min. You can have 6 up. You can use echo echo to move to the one that corresponds to the ability you use on your ability bar. Echo echo, causes the effect to be repeated with 0 cost to mana or cooldown.

Nodes: you are invulnerable during wind up of echo echo. You can destroy an echo echo note for a cooldown reduction to other abilities.

Synergies With Rogue

Fellblade can prock with multishot, puncture or flurry once converted, and no longer requires a spear to be used.

Medidate can prock with shift, and grants tier 0 benefits as if Ring was learned on rogue for 3s.

Echo echo can be placed at players location by using ability Net. Player is limited to 2 notes this way.

Professional Class/Mastery proposals poster here. I will kindly provide my review of this.

Parts I didnā€™t like:

Spear and Shield: This was overall a poor idea. You could go with a new type of one hander lance or just use existing ones. For the off-hand it would be interesting to introduce Rogue-specific musical instruments. They already have the Quivers, might as well get the instruments too. Two-handed spear with shield just isnā€™t what a Rogue would equip.

Fell Blade: Itā€™s just not interesting enough, I would scrap it completely.

Parts I did like

Ring around the Voidsie: I like the concept. As I undersand it, you walk on something like a sigil of an instrument and you get the corresponding buffs. Iā€™m not sure if thereā€™s a better way to activate the buff, like sort of playing piano with your other skills, but itā€™s good for a basis. I also donā€™t think it needs to be void damage either, but thatā€™s probably a minor point.

Guidance: I like it, but based on similar comments I got I bet people will say that it sounds too much like Rebuke. You could put a different spin on it, however. Say instead of blocking you produce a musical aura which slows down incoming enemies, attacks and missiles. Think of it like the kind of shield that they use in Dune. In this skill, enemies and missiles who enter the aura get a massive movement debuff which becomes weaker with time. Once you stop channeling, the aura persists for 0,5 seconds and then the effect is gone.
Now for the effect, you should think more ā€œrogue-likeā€ and less ā€œsentinel-likeā€, which means do agile stuff that a rogue would do and not heavy attack stuff that a sentinel would do. Like maybe massive movement and attack speed, or you cast your next skill 3-5 times with one cast or something else.

Meditate: Again I like it but again people will say itā€™s too much like Falconry. Itā€™s a good concept but it needs something different in order to work.

Echo Echo: Poorly named but I like this concept a lot. It can also have a lot of synergy with Ring around the Voidsie.
