For the fun of it, i wanted to theorycraft a build i would want to try at some point. Wanted to run it by you all first.
The theme was to make a martial malee forge guard that could tank a lot of damage, and heal like a truck, while throwing around disks of fire to deal damage. This build was inspired by a build from Titan quest.
Skills
Reave, and volatile reversal for mana regan, health, and repositioning. Glyphs from paladin for ignite and fire damage boost. Healing hands for constant healing per second (as a channel skill it provides a stat boost for resist and damage while channeling)
Main damage comea from throwing a fire shield, and having it send fire explosions. Reave can kill enemies bellow 15%

I scaled up fire resist to try to add bonus base damage, and also 3x1 for +30 fire throwing base damage. Added damage reflected to help also scale it.

I donāt understand the gameplay loop. Are you standing there channeling HH until your OoM and then using Reversal/Rive for mana? Why not just proc HH as a melee ability with Rive? You have Sigils as well with a 6% chance on kill, but they only last 15s, I admit Iām not a fan of Sigils so Iām not sure, but is that 6% enough to keep near 100% uptime on 3 Sigils or are you going to have to stop and refresh them manually frequently?
Iām also not sure how calling down a beam of light from the heavens and reversing yourself in time through the void while powering yourself up with holy symbols is āthematicallyā a forge Guard. Honestly this build would work with any of the masteries.

Vengeance, HH, shield throw that can ricochet from allies, shield bash, sigils or ring of shield.
Vengeance provides you with defensive buffs and the riposte when attacked. You want to be attacked and block it, for this triggers shield throw on a .5 seconds cooldown.
You can summon Ring of Shields with it not being specialized, or use the shield crafter passive to get shields, so you have allies for the shield ricochet. Good for bosses.
Healing hand triggers as a melee attack, and it doubles as your direct cast traversal skill.
Shield bash makes your shields ricochet even more and gives you further defensive buffs.
Boots and belt with cooldown reduction, as you donāt convert shield bash or shield throw to no-cooldown.
That is basically what my forge guard in 1.1 used for a while. I also played with smite on throwing hit, with standard javelin to cast more smite.
