so i’ll keep my remarks brief, lest Sarno slap me with a wet noodle again.
Base class: comparatively seems horrendously overpowered next to the other base classes, but as i haven’t played the other base classes since the patch, this may just be the general feel that devs are going for.
i failed to find any reasonable use for the decoy or ballista abilities as their mana cost and slow rate of attack/damage next to my 10 attacks per second slappy slap level 1 ability just chewed through everything on it’s own.
Marksman: i ultimately didn’t go this route on my first rogue so i havn’t really tested it out, but one of the primary things that fueled this decision was the same-ish feeling that the abilities had with base skills, for instance multishot sounds just like shurikan toss, but with arrows, black quiver sounds like something you’d expect on a bladedancer in that it requires a great deal of movement to utilize, something which archers are not known for. rain of arrows is like “cool, it’s an aoe… is that it?” for a top tier ability i’m sure it’s tuned to be strong, but it doesn’t seem terribly interesting.
Blademaster: the class i chose to go after noticing some… uncanny similarities to my idea of what a blade-dancer should be, and while i have yet to get to deep into it, i can already feel that it was the right choice.
that’s all for now, i will return with more in depth feedback (at least for blade-dancers) once i enter the monolith.
Hey… Its definitely an interesting class to play… It does seem like its going the op route though… but then again Range DPS is traditionally only beaten out by Mage nukes in aRPGs so its not unexpected for me. For me, Spellblades are still the most op (even more so with Dual Wielding imho), but I have a feeling that a well built Rogue could take the crown soon…
First impressions for me are that it seems to hint at lots of possible routes and builds which is great.
I have started a Marksman with Cinder… no real choice, I just went with whatever felt like it was working (usually dont theory craft on a first run)… In contrast to you I am enjoying the Decoy & general explosion arrow type playstyle … Ballista seems meh (at low level) and I didnt like the initial shuriken experience but there are lots of other things that interest me… I am keen on a bladedancer poison build or even a multishot (to compare with D3 build)… Some of the uniques, set items & idols also seem to hint that there are some serious possibilities with Rogues… also want to try the throwing dagger build - could be fun.
So… I’m keen to see what the “builders” come up with in the next few days…
So … lots of ideas… if they actually work in end-game builds, we will have to see… too early for me to tell right now.
