Prophecies should be something less random , as currently the Observatory is just a random loot generator without any reliability.
In PoE you can receive a specific item while in LE you basically drop an item of a specific quality, that is, the RNG is many times higher because you will never know which item is delivered, that is, it is completely out of focus.
Meanwhile, in the market you can choose exactly the item you want, that is, RNG does not exist.
In other words, if the player chooses the Cycle of Fortune in Observatory he will have a double disadvantage, as he cannot choose the item he wants and cannot buy it on the market.
I recommend that the system for choosing prophecies by item be adopted and that they have reduced RNG to compensate for the loss of the market.
The RNG is fine. Its a grind game, not a âlet-me-just-pick-this-up-and-be-doneâ-game. Just because it doesnt cater to your expectations it doesnt mean its bad.
Back in the days you had to grind for months to find the item that completes your build. Today all I can see is ppl demanding everything handed on a silver plate.
Thats not how this works, thats not how it should be imo!!
The RNG would remain high in the same way, as prophecy players would not be able to choose legendary potential or affix tiers.
Basically, the RNG would still in Cycle of Fortune.
So you want to have a Prophecy that will drop a specific Unique?
Do you realise how many Prophecies would have to be implemented, & how much Favour you would waste rerolling until you found what you wanted?
Apart from the div cards that give a random unique/whatever. Also, prophecies arenât div cards.
Yes, MG is the deterministic way of acquiring loot, CoF is the less-RNG than pre-1.0 way.
Donât forget the triple & quadruple disadvantage of being showered in exalted and uniques with LP. Sorting through all that epic loot is just so demoralising.
CoF already has reduced RNG.
And that would be the next thing asked for in the rapid slide down into an auto-clicker.
The whole point of CoF is to still be random.
If you wanted to get specific items at your whim, you shouldâve joined MG.
Took the words out of my mouth. Is CoF heaven? No, but a lot of people have issues with MG, as well.
As for rerolling, favour is never wasted, at least until Rank 10. Every point you spend increases your reputation.
I donât know how difficult it is to create a prophecy for each type of item: a ring, a sword, a helmet, etc. There are several low-quality item prophecies that the player will not even pick up, but if they are by type, potentially all of them can be chosen.
But youâre never going to want every sword, youâll only ever want 1, possibly 2 unique swords so having 1 prophecy per sword would significantly increase the number of available prophecies that you donât want leading to more rerolling.
I think you confuse item type with specific item. For example, the prophecy now says that the reward is 2 random items of unique type and what I propose is that it should be â2 unique swordsâ
There are prophecies for â2 unique swordsâ. Might take a couple of rerolls, though.
In fact, what I wanted to write was the most specific type of weapon/armor:
For example, Tempest Maw is a Unique Crescent Axe. The prophecy would contain two unique winged blade swords as a reward.
