Is the foundation of your critique here just based on you not being able to get to the top of the leaderboard? I see you are currently #8. Maybe the board should be reset if it is now impossible to get near wave 400.
Sorry but this is missing a whole bunch of info (total hp) and is not a correct example and comparison.
Enemies did 100 damage always, you only had either amounts of EHP (life + protections), and were rolling around with the X as phys combo which gave something like 5k EHP and more.
The res change is due and makes it simpler since apparently whatever systems they make these dont seem to be always cleared by everyone

I agree with the premise of this thread. I disagree with the idea that gear doesnât matter right now. I think brining in the Arena as âevidenceâ doesnât help any of these arguments.
I am sorry this has nothing to do with conversion affixes. and donât know how the argument is being made in that case the issue was you had GB that halved all the damage you take.
Then you could basically infinitely build prots. So the mitigation of basically 90% combined with halving all incoming damage. it the result. The devs said that they made adjustments but here seem to be some outliers that are overtuned. In combination with this.
The new resistance system if built to be around 0% resistance when you are capped.
So the only way to mitigate is dodger, block, armor and health / ward. none of these can reach the same mitigation.
Again, the damage is the same. Just the conversion into 4k prot phys is gone
In 0.7.10 you are rolling with 1-1.5k hp and is the only source of tears
while in 0.7.9 only with X conversion you were rolling with 5k ehp
Itâs actually not missing any pertinent info. prior to 0.7.10 0 prots would always give you 0 damage reduction & if your prots/health were giving you 75% damage reduction then thatâs all you need to know regarding a non-one-shot.
Yes, the effective removal of the X taken as phys has hurt Sentinels at the high end, but now block is significantly more effective (against hits) as well.
The Arena is only a fraction of the game and wasnât intended to be a permanent endgame mode. It may stay due to popularity, but basing the health of the game on Arena is faulty.
This seems to be counting double. Without PEN, our EHP would be WAY up as it was very hard to get 75% all resist with decent HP in 7.9. Penetration being innate, scaling with level, is a problem. I understand their intent, but it doesnât work out.
kinda offtopic: i was building in âX damage taken as physâ and i tought about asking you guys, what would be done with this when new resistances kicks in, now i dont know if still worth it, my idea was to convert void and necrotic (40 % converted necro and void, and save one suffix on helm and body armor to physical damage to balance damage/defense), and get 20 % poison reduction on ammy on my Paladin (to cover the three, elemental damage is more easy, cause holy aura helps alot with that).
If your purpose is testing, why are you just running past everything? Arena is a faulty test because of infinite scaling without players being able to do the same. If players scaling is balanced on high end arena, the rest of the game will either be FAR too hard for the majority of players, or it will be minimized to meaninglessness.
